Beautiful welcoming church in a great location. We love the daycare! They have been a pleasure to work with. Been attending Park Road Baptist Church for 2 years and realized few things here to share with others so you don't waste your time if you come from a different background. 1. This is a church in is South Park. More attendants are comfortable retirees and "comfortable" South Park people (or at least look like). If you don't fit it to this background, it will be really hard to find a community here. If you don't speak like or look like them, yes they said all are welcome but not all are accepted and treated equally. You may feel you are always an outsider unless you speak structurally like them or look like them. 2. There is a strong culture here and people are very comfortable with it and don't like any changes, differences or being challenged. They are not interested knowing your difference or understanding where it came from so it's better to hide it and just pretend there is no difference so we can all maintain this "comfortable" feeling so you don't make them feel uncomfortable. 3. This church did a good job on trying to be open to everyone and saying that all are welcome but they don't have the training on how to manage and treat the differences respectfully in personal way. It's good they are trying but they just don't know how to do it. Don't feel being mistreated or take it personal. My child participated in the Charlotte youth orchestra here. It was challenging during the Covid time due to limited interaction. I felt the staff took appropriate precautions. The location and proximity to other activities made it bearable. Receptionist is very rude. I just called to get information on a specific topic , she quickly said something then hung up. I had to call back to hear what she said. A different lady answered who was more kind . I was interested in joining as well, but after being hung up on and dismissed I change my mind . Great way to represent the Lord! Park Road Baptist Church: An inclusive church where ALL are welcomed. I have found this place to be a sanctuary of free and honest inquiry, sound theological scholarship, warm and caring congregation, social missions, and great music. They have gifted child and youth leaders and a campus that is open all week to various community programs. But the preaching is my favorite.
