My husband and I were taking a stroll downtown and happened up this little gem. I was immediately drawn to the beauty and care taken by the landscaper or others responsible for this property. Their love of God and His wonderful creation are evident in their handiwork. It brought joy to my soul and I commend those responsible. We visited Raleigh for a wedding and happened upon this beautiful church. We actually came back on Sunday when it was open just to be able to walk through the building and the grounds. A very nice man of the cloth noticed us and offered a tour of both chapels. They were breathtaking. I recommend anyone to stop by and see this beautiful landmark. This is the church that strengthened my relationship with The Lord... Jim's sermons are especially impactful. Love the welcoming community and online services while I am away at college. Music is beautiful and my heart is always full when I leave.❤️ We attempted to join the 11am Easter service but were treated so rudely. We tried to sit down twice at an empty pew and were told the seats were being held for someone. No ushers assisted and we felt very unwelcome. Would never go back. We went up the street to the First Baptist Church and were greeted with open arms. Parishioners greeted us before and after the service and invited us to come back. We will! Beautiful building, alter, and the service was wonderful. The choir was amazing; I sat and listened to them practice before the service. The Choir Director is very talented! Unfortunately, the church seems very pretentious. No one spoke to me, welcomed me, said hello to me. I was like an outsider (well I was). I left looking forward to my next Episcopal church service at a different location.
