What visitors say

I have went to this church couple of times and I didn't feel the welcome there. Also, I have in the past (for a short period of time) and now attend Community Bible Study there on Thursdays. I don't feel the welcome there and as a black woman, I am being serotype. I also sense racist there. I keep asking myself why would I continue to go to a church and Bible study if I don't feel welcome there. Even when I volunteered in childcare, I was being serotype by some of the people there. I don't want to be apart of a church like that. God's presence is not there. Also, if you are a babe in Christ then this is not the Bible study for you because you will not learn anything. It's a waste of time going there for Bible study. This has been our church for close to 2 years now, and it has been transformational for me and my family. I accepted Jesus here, got baptized here, and will be continue to develop as a Christian here for many years to come. I've been working here this week cleaning up due to a fire so water and smoke damage, but this is one huge church that is televised every Sunday morning! They have a thrift store in the church as well. Also children will love it! I'll post a few pictures so check it out!!! There's a huge room for the service also 2 more overflow rooms with big TV screens. A chapel, a kitchen , snack and drink machines, a library, meeting rooms a welcome center and many others! Very inviting church environment. All are welcome to come as you are to worship. Been here consistently since 2021 to 2024 and visit inconsistency since 2018/2019. Unfortunately I had to leave for reasons not listed here... ♡The positives♡ - There really is a lot to do & ways to connect outside of just listening to the sermon. I personally loved the apologetics class! 💖💜✨ - Mostly warm community! I’ve made a lot of friends and mentors there that I love dearly. - Lots of resources (from partners). Front desk people can help find you help with one of their partnered ministries if you have a specific need. - Solid primary beliefs from what I can tell and they were open to answer questions I had. - They collectively give financially a lot to local ministries that help the local community. They are pretty transparent about their finances too. - It’s very contemporary, causal dress, and like a mix between being Baptist and Pentecostal. ♡The Negatives♡ - They follow and have speakers that come from megachurches, are apart of the NAR, and big Eva. Ex: Elevation and Hillsong Church. - When they make a mistake publicly never make a statement about it publicly… idk it's a bit odd. Ex: teaching the ennagram. - Some of the secondary theological labels they assign themselves with they don’t always follow which is sus. Ex: saying they’re complementarian when they let women preach sermons and act as a pastor without the label of pastor. - They have a favoritism problem. “Wolves” tend to be given influence & more 2nd chances for awful things without much real consequences… while others are given more swifter consequences for similar or even less worse actions. - Very topical sermons and some patsors will blantly copy other pastor’s work like Pastor Daivd Guzik. - CRF as a whole comes off very “seeker friendly” and isn't super active in helping the community in tangible ways despite having the space and money to do so. Ex: they don't like homeless cause some tend to steal, do drugs, and litter so they build stuff on the their property (like frisbee golf course) to keep people from settling there... 😐 - I don't really like how the senior pastor would sometimes talks about people (without naming) that he disagrees with randomly before the beginning of the sermon. One target, the old Youth Pastor that deconstructed made some good observations but they were completely ignored because he's deconstructed… 🙃 ♡Other things to note♡ - It usually is very very cold on Sundays. - The music is so loud they have earplugs in the back of the worship room. - They don't seem to have to best communication with each division which makes some sense because it is a big church. It just be like that. - Feedback can be slow. From when I was there leadership just has a lot on their plate, so I’d give them some grace.🙏🏿 I pray that whatever is going on in darkness would come to light, so CRF can grow in a spiritually healthy way. Leaving was very bittersweet and I kind of felt forgotten, but I also did benefit from being there for a season. After going here I’m a lot more cautious about the churches I attend.
