My negative interaction happened around the covid years. I dropped by the church to leave a prayer request. I thought I had seen a request box on a counter. One of the men, who was one of the speakers at the time, stated the church had never had a prayer box. His arrogant attitude towards me was surprising. I definitely got the impression he thought I was there for a handout. (In actuality, a family member had died from covid). I decided to go back for a service. The same man was speaking. In my opinion, he carried the same attitude while teaching God's word that he had during our interchange. That was the day I made the decision to leave Hope. My personal view is that every church needs a place you can drop off anomymous prayer requests. As far as attitudes go, Jesus is clear on the equality of ALL. Truly a family that strives to Love God, follow Jesus, and Share Hope. If you are looking for a new home church I would strongly recommend visiting. If your not sure about all this church stuff I'd also recognize mend visiting, there's no pressure, no judgement, just people who would love to get to know you and answer your questions. This church deeply hurt me. They seemed nice until they were not anymore. They push un-Biblical Word of Faith ideas through both music and stances they take. The fact that people are so argumentative and insistent on their own points of view while not asking the right questions or looking at what the Bible says is a big problem to me. The Bible preaches love, humility, gentleness, kindness, and acceptance, and the experience I had here did not reflect that. If you are looking for a welcoming home church, Hope Community is great. I have found it not only an amazing church but a great community of friends. We've been attending hope for over 20 years now. We have watched a couple of iterations of it, but one thing that hasn't changed is its mission to share God's love with the community. Hope, like God, loves you just where you are right now. If you're lost, confused, hurting, or in need, this is a wonderful place to go.
