What visitors say
Spike & all the other friendly, kind-hearted people who volunteer at the "Lunchtime Ministries" at St. Matthew's Church, do a wonderful job and a great service in the community for the homeless and others who are less fortunate. The church's spacious Congregation Room's Door (located on the 8th Street side of the church) is open to anyone in need from 8:30 am until noon on Monday-Thursday weekly, and is always set up with enough tables & chairs for the large crowd it produces popularity so they can relax, rest themsto school around the community, but acts as a haven for any weary, tired soul who many have nowhere to relax. This service allows it's guests the privilege to be able to commune together & socialize to show love, support & guidance to others whom may be experiencing similar challenges & difficulties. and without feeling like outcasts and less judged or victimized by public scrutinizy like many feel on a daily basis due to their unfavorable circumstances. The Ministry not only serves nutritious, tasty hot meals that are donated, prepared & served by caring volunteers that either live, own a business or go This church is very involve in helping the homeless with mesls and clothing and shelter. All are donated. I highly recommend it AA meeting entrance on Washington St, soup kitchen entrance on 8th, church entrance on Hudson. I hope this info might help anyone unfamiliar with Hoboken. Great place to catch up on some rest and mingle while u wait to be served breakfast and lunch I actually was stunned by how much they try to help the less fortunate. They even help folks get glasses or dental work for those without insurance.
