Great little facility. If you're not a member and just trying to find a new church home it might not be the best option though. They aren't the most welcoming to anyone new no matter how many Sundays you attend. Full of sinners, like me! Real, beautifully broken people that have been redeemed by our powerful Savior, Jesus Christ. The Pastors humbly and powerfully preach the Word of God, lead us to grow in our intimacy with God, and challenge us to show God's love and kindness to others. The staff and members serve cheerfully, welcome newcomers, and pray for each other. The youth programs are the best in Las Vegas with exceptional leadership. Worship is genuine, mellifluous, remarkably professional, and focused on glorifying God. This has been my church family for over a decade and I'm honored to support and participate in all the church planting, community outreach, and missions (local and oversees) that God has orchestrated through Shadow Hills. God is moving mightily in Las Vegas through this church people! Finding community in a world plagued by loneliness is hard; but it’s here. Authentic community that pushes you to the cross and walks with you in every season; we found that here. It has been our greatest joy to strengthen our marriage and raise our children here.* We knew it was home the first week we walked inside. Gospel centered, humble leadership, genuine connections. If you’re looking for a home, there’s room for you here. * As a special needs family, a safe and wholly inclusive environment for disciplining little hearts is a MUST. We found that here too. Having just moved to Vegas I tried several churches before finding Shadow Hills North. The warmth I felt walking in to this church is hard to describe. Everyone was so welcoming. Worship is amazing! I highly recommend this church that has become my family ! Church 'shopping' is hard and sometime emotionally overwhelming. I went through this process twice, once when my church I called home for many years closed its doors and again when my (now) husband and I were looking for a church to attend together. The first time was so emotional, I was desperately looking for everything to fill this void that had been left after what felt like losing a family member. The second time was a little easier emotionally but trickier because the church we were looking for as a couple needed to meet a few requirements for our family - Strong Biblical Teaching for him; worship that I could get lost in to prepare my heart and connect with God before hearing the word; and a church body that we didn't feel lost in (not too big, not too small). This church has definitely become home for us. The community we found within these walls have become family that we welcome into our home throughout the month. Strong, welcoming community groups/Lyfe Groups/small groups/bible studies, whatever you'd like to call it have cultivated amazingly strong friendships and accountability groups within the church body - we serve our community together, learn together, laugh together, cry together, and (my personal favorite) play games together. Our youth group that meets weekly rocks - its so amazing to watch these kids love people as we are called to do in the Bible. The word that Pastor Nathan preaches on Sundays is solid, honest, real, relatable and from the word of God. The worship is powerful, you can feel God's presence when the whole body of the church is praising Him. The congregation size is perfect for us - we know almost everybody and we still keep growing! It's absolutely worth checking out - but keep this in mind, just like trying new food: Your first bite you there is an expectation and it may seem a little weird. Your second bite you have a different perspective now that you've had a taste. By the third bite you should know if you like it - unless there is a surprise ingredient in that bite (i.e. a guest speaker). The fourth bite will tell you if this is your new favorite meal or not.
