I've never been compelled to review a church, but this is a really special place. This was my first visit. Free, on-street parking is available everywhere. When I got to the door I was greeted by two members of the church, who introduced themselves. It's so rare for a stranger to do that so I assumed we'd met and,let's just say, I sounded like an idiot. She didn't act like I am and I'm grateful for that. Everyone I talked to that day showed the same warmth and kindness. I am most impressed by their sense of community. That day they had a potluck brunch after the service, which I believe they do every month. They also have small groups that meet throughout the week so the families really get to know each other. I'm lucky to have a diverse group of friends,so I've been to lots of places of worship. This was the most welcoming, by far. City Church in Tremont is a super authentic place of worship. There’s a beautiful simplicity to the service that feels deeply holy and grounded. It’s not flashy or performance-driven—it’s honest, welcoming, and focused on what really matters. A peaceful and powerful place to connect with God. Very welcoming. Easy to find Great biblical preaching, engaging music and worship service. Several families and staff connected with us either before during or after the service, just taking the time to know us. Glad we were able to worship together while we were apart from our home church. This is my church home (2017) after a couple of years of looking. Services are bible based. Child friendly. Welcoming atmosphere. Accessible. Love these folks. I've recently moved out of town, and I miss the community here like crazy. If you are in the area, it's well worth getting to know this community. City Church strives to make the Gospel core to all they say and do.
