I went to this church for years and the Scientology documentary made me realize this church is cult like. They teach Christianity but it’s very similar to Scientology where you pay for classes to move up the ranks, very political and social. No boundaries and nothing is private. It’s very hard to leave here and if you do, you are basically excommunicated from everyone. Speaking from experience. Have had a wonderful experience with Dwell. The community here is welcoming and warm to all. You will find no worship music during teaching, which I actually enjoy, but can be a turn off for some I understand. The kids programs are amazing and our two years attending vacation bible school here have been a fantastic experience! Been going to this church for a couple years. I have really enjoyed the focus on community and teaching straight from the Bible. I have especially appreciated the support by the community during tough times of grief. I was visiting my son one weekend and went to a service with him and his wife. I LOVED the teaching!! I wish I could find one that teaches for an hour with no announcements, and no singing for 30 min. After the sermon there was a Q & A session for about 15 or so minutes about the sermon. Never ever I ever been to a church like that. This may be considered a cult but I loved the Bible teachings and format they use. I wish I could find one where I live. It's not that there's no truth taught here, but there are lots of spiritual landmines and you are very likely to step on at least some of them. I personally didn't experience the control or manipulation some have claimed, nor did I witness drunkenness. Still, I believe there are better choices.
