I attended this Church when I was in Early Middle School to High School. When I was younger I was a very shy girl, and would follow my older sister everywhere, even to the High School Sunday service. Even though I was too young to be there, Craig and Scott the 2 youth pastors welcomed me with open arms and allowed me to stay. Shortly after I went to high school they both had left. The new Youth Pastor on the other hand was not very welcoming. He would ignore you if you weren’t one of the popular kids. The kids all went to school together whether public or home schooled, if you didn’t attend any of those with them they shunned you. I felt very Isolated while here, I tried to joint the Youth Band but was told No, I tried to go to there summer hangouts at the park but was ignored and left out of stuff. The only time anyone would acknowledge me was when I would bring my friends with me to the events. My best friend at the time turned against me once she started hanging out with these Kids. I left the church after that and turned from God. A few years later I went back to this church to attend a family members funeral. I had brought my Boyfriend (now Husband) with me. The youth pastor kept harassing my husband the whole time at the Dinner after the funeral. He never acknowledged me but wanted to bug my husband. Needless to say this church has a lot to be desired and if their goal is to bring people to Jesus they did a horrible job of it. It wasn’t until I had my son that I found my way back to God, and realized you donn’t need a church to have a relationship with him. There are so many different ways to hear Gods message now. I first discovered Jesus and Christianity in 2002 thanks to the youth ministry of Linworth Road Church. I had been to other churches before, but I had never before witnessed a group of people actually honestly, completely living it out. That summer my life was forever permanently changed, and I over more than 20 years since have experienced first hand the abundant life promised in John 10:10. There are a ton of great churches in Columbus but Linworth Road Church has a unique passion for the Great Commission which has impacted generations for Christ. Great Bible based teaching, great spirit filled worship and Bible study groups. Life long relationships from babies to grandparents. I love my church family; been going for 15 years and plan to grow old here with my church family. I have been going to the Linworth Road Community Church (yes, they dropped the word Community) since 1996. The music is uplifting and there isn't a week that a tune will stay with me all week long. The preachers range in age from young to almost older, and each person brings a lot of insight to their message, The members are of a range of ages, but mostly young professionals, and they are prolific. The Sunday School program, "Cross Crew" gets raving reviews. Come, and come again, and come again and then get engaged. A Great Place to come and meet GOD and HIS Redeeming SON, JESUS. In my experience, the church leadership at Linworth will only help you if it's convenient or fashionable for them to do so. Otherwise, they're quite content to leave you twisting in the wind. They do not care about providing genuine spiritual guidance and support to those who need it. The leadership is lazy, incompetent, unprofessional, disingenuous, and dangerously destructive. I do not say that lightly. I witnessed some absolutely appalling behavior from them. They should be embarrassed - and haunted - by what they did. Update: In response to Linworth's comment, I would say that I tried multiple times - over multiple months - to get them to address this issue and they did absolutely nothing. In fact, they turned their backs on me. So, this whole "we recognize we missed out on meeting your needs and we're working to grow" thing just is not true.
