What visitors say
Gotta say this place does a great job of creating an illusion of “ministry” by being a “cool church”, kind of tiptoeing around the edge of actual preaching so as not to become unpopular, as if we aren’t unpopular enough as christians to just own it and be his hands and feet, not try and meld with pop culture.. Best part of it was one friendly guy who apologized that his kid (he probably had 8 or 9 of them poor guy) kept making funny faces at me during the service. He honestly had me chuckling and helped me stay the rest of the service which probably had about 1 good point made, the rest was asking for money, announcements, more announcements, telling us how good of people they are yadda yadda, talking about a book they wrote, music performances (not even worship), and pastor wife giving what seemed to be business pitches. Very odd There used to be really good sermons and pastors here until about 5-10 years ago it started to go downhill and everything started to change..worship and everything now it seems it is all for show and a fake to get people to come in and donate. Especially with a female worship director they sometimes use as an extra pastor when the two male pastors are too tired apparently to produce a sermon once every other week week?- not being sexist she just does not get anywhere with any of the things she says. We want the word, not to be rambled and long pauses and weird moody lights and music in the background for distractions because you can’t make sermons anymore. Suprise, Well, even my kid does not enjoy being in a barnyard room full of 50+ crazy kids older and younger than him for “Sunday school” which is pool tables and eating chips and soda for breakfast? he wants to be in a room of a small group of kids his age being taught, not playing games and watching shows. You guys have gone downhill. So sad. I just pulled around the back of this church to hook up a battery system (power for travelling). Some members of the church walked out and asked me what I was doing. I wasn't trying to be disruptive as there isn't usually anyone out back there, and churches will typically allow you to use their parking lot for a few hours for various things, so I did even bother to ask them if it was ok given it was a Tuesday afternoon/evening. So these two women approached me, and I politely explained I was just hooking up a battery system for my car (you know for doing that traveling). I told them I was just hanging out a bit to do that, and they said: Ok. We were just wondering yada yada. They didn't ask me to leave, so I went back to work and thought nothing of it. Then a really nice police officer shows up. Just asks a few questions. Runs my plate ID exceterra. They ask if I wouldn't mind leaving to which I said no problem. I wish the church had said something so we didn't have to waste the polices' time. They get a bad rap, but TPD has always been cool to me. I get it. I look like a crazy person who was doing God knows what, but don't you think the more "Christian thing to do" would have been to ask me politely to leave? There is some sort of Bible quote I could throw here, but we know that they aren't truly believers in doing the right and neighborly thing. This Church & the people (especially those who embraced me) with such love and kindness will forever hold a special place in my heart and prayers! Rev. Adam is truly a Pastor after God's own heart for the people! I have been truly blessed and inspired by this ministry to continue running my race in Christ Jesus! I encourage you to come with an open heart & spirit; God will do the rest! #livingwitness Community is so important and I am grateful for the community and my many experiences here! Until next time! Blessings 🙏🏽‼️✝️❤️ We visited for the first time today and it was wonderful! The worship, sermon, friendliness, even the coffee was exceptional. They even have a prayer room! You don't see that very often these days. We will be back!
