I was a member for 4 years or so and I spent some time there in my elementary school days. The members of the congregation were very friendly, I attend their college age bible study as regularly as I could. Nice group of people, though whenever we did have class it seemed to be 60% gossip and 40% bible study which always left me feeling a little uneasy hearing others' private matters. The worship leader had a serious staring problem with me. She would direct lingering glances and intense eye contact at me during various moments whether it was during the worship, communion or while I was praying. I never brought it up to anyone in the congregation out of guilt and fear of stirring up drama. After two years of being a member we started to connect through work related emails I had received from her, my job helped promote one of her ventures and all within the last month I was allowed at Sunday services SHE initiated an in person conversation with ME, she sent ME a friend request on Facebook and offered ME in person a role as part of the audio/visual background team. During a conversation related to hostile language and imagery I saw on one of her social media pages, I offered to stop attending services regularly and disconnect with her on social media after she claimed ignorance multiple times to what I was implying. She said she would pray for me and told me she wanted me to continue being up there. No less than a week later she's twisting the narrative and putting in print that all of our interactions were unwarranted. She's filing papers against me which she lied multiple times on, and exaggerated conversations between us accusing me of harassment and trying to frame me as a cyber stalker. Having never been through anything like this before I kept my mouth shut before I had any evidence together with cases of some churches covering evidence of misconduct to protect their staff's image and reputation. When the lead minister informed me of the action she took I had a meeting with him and asked to see documentation he had been sent proving something was filed in the courts so I could start getting any evidence together but he refused. My address on the report was listed wrong which gave me less than a week to prepare, nevertheless I showed up to court with what paper trail I could collect in that short time frame. She requests the case be dismissed with the added caveat I wasn't allowed at their Sunday morning services anymore. I consulted with the D.A's office and the sheriff's office in the county where it was filed about my options afterwards. 7 months later I had to threaten a lawsuit in order to have a meeting with the eldership in what I was promised as one elder only turned into each one involved in a small cramped room. I was offered a potential "onboarding process" where I was told to stay on my best behavior and any more push backs from me would keep me out of the college age bible study I was regularly attending. Any points or questions I made were met with a shrug or questioning why I would feel the need to document my interactions with a woman repeatedly leering at me while acting in a religious leadership role who's over a decade older than me. I hope the elders offered some guidance to the worship leader as it pertains to keeping her eyes focused on her sheet music and her soul focused on her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Hopefully she and the rest of the staff learned to be more open and honest about their emotions with members of the congregation if they feel any interactions in person or online are considered "unsettling" or "unwarranted" instead of leading them on and baiting them into sending an apology which is turned around and used as a weapon. Unless you don't mind her sitting on her perch week after week singing songs, collecting a check, and not bothering to practice the principles in the songs she's singing to the congregation; though I can't imagine she makes it a habit to enable and prey on the emotions of young impressionable men. Hiding your Facebook reviews, not surprised. We have gone to Town and Country over a year now and we love this Church. People are very friendly and accepting. My children love this church as much as I do and this is the first one we have gone to in years that we feel comfortable, accepted, and enjoy listening to the services. Every week we go we look forward to the next week. (Although I work alot so we unfortunately don't get to go every week at times, but still watch the service when we can live:).) My husband and I are enjoying getting to know TCCC and the community of believers. We've been very warmly welcomed which means a lot to both of us. Our granddaughter attended with us last week and has asked to start attending with us regularly. She loved kids church!! Great Church family that focuses on helping the surrounding community and providing a place to learn and grow for all walks of life. Left my church of 40 years looking for a church with good children's program 7 year old brought into sanctuary during service kids will be kids quite disruptive when ask to be silent and dont move left service early will be looking for another church to attend focus around youth that can handle disruptive children this is so disappointing.
