Good day to anyone reading this I seen a one-star review on here and it's just I don't think it's right my name is Michael Augustine and I have six kids and I'm telling you this place the food that they do to help that they give the things that they do for the kids the community everything the discharge does is so very great it is such a hard time it is so very hard on all of us right now and have a place like this that helps out the community treats everyone liked their family like they're human how many places like this anymore if you need help come here you looking for a good church a good atmosphere some people to talk to and joke around with and they'll treat you really nice come here if you have money if you have things that can be donated to help others this is the place to do it it won't get wasted this is the place right here God bless all of you that work here God bless all of you that volunteer God bless anybody reading this. I first visited Bethel in July of 2023. From the moment I approached the church and was greeted so kindly by the members and Pastor David, I knew this was the place for me. The greeting continued after the service, being invited to the fellowship time by a different member of the church. The welcome continued after that day and continues to today. I made the decision to join Bethel right away and became a member just after Thanksgiving. I appreciate what Bethel allows me to do to serve the church and greater Beaverton community in a way that fits my talents and abilities . I appreciate the sense of belonging and family I feel when I am at church or joining an event. I would recommend Bethel to anyone looking for a church family. Rummage sale is wonderful, you can almost find things I love this church!! So family friendly - my entire family feels welcome, even my son with disabilities and my husband who is raised with a different religious background. Open and affirming and so warm. It’s like a warm hug of a community. Those seeking social and community connection- this is the place . I'm rating one of their long-standing community service features(?) that's been help for my family for the past 3 years: Faith Cafe. Bethel runs Faith Cafe every Sunday from 5-6PM & I've loved the welcoming, warm, and safe atmosphere. When you go into the Cafe you're greated by the volunteer church members that week, and of course, Arnie who seems to be one of the people that is fundamental in keeping Faith Cafe going. Upon entry to the cafe, one can gather a few items from their fruits, veggies, bread, and random shelf stable area, which isn't always available at free meals & is a welcome edition to the meal. You're served your meal by volunteers whom wait on you, which is a very nice touch. Arnie and Barb (the 2 consistent and senior members of Faith Cafe) provide a birthday cake & sing to people, there's special meals for Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving & there's even a visit from "Santa" at Christmas time. The staff really try their best to make you feel welcome each week, and unlike other dinners I've been to, I've never felt unsafe there & if someone does start to get upset there's an immediate volunteer intervention. I've never seen an actual dangerous situation in the 3 years I've been there. They offer seconds and take home meals in addition to the meal too. The meals tend to be, in my opinion, fairly good quality ingredients. Faith Cafe is the only free meal open on Sundays west of Portland. If you're "down on your luck" or just would like to have a meal with company, Faith Cafe is a good way to go. Thank you Bethel for this wonderful community service!
