My home church since I moved to s.f. Great people who love Jesus and believe in preaching and living according to what the Bible says. Come and visit us and have a coffee and conversation with someone in our amazing café. Been going to New Life Church for about 8 years. It doesn't feel like church, it feels like family. Pastor Alex speaks the truth (from the Bible) in love. They have a great Kids program. And they have several kinds of Small groups. I sat there watching and listening as he spoke harshly about local shelters and down upon homeless, phrasing it "full of addicts, chaos and no peace" - as if ALL homeless are bad, mentally ill low-lifes. He offered NOTHING positive to say about the SERVICE the shelters provide to shelter and feed people in need. Many of the women WHERE I LIVE IN A HOMELESS SHELTER are there to ESCAPE the "chaos and no peace" of homes - homes that you PREACH are so much better than the drug addled shelters. I sat there hoping he'd turn it around and recognize some good, nope... I sat there listening to his entire critical, judgemental, condescending, belittling sermon about homeless shelters WHERE I LIVE, - a non-addict who happened to end up in the shelter by a serious of unfortunate events. I have no criminal nor drug background, as same for many other homeless. As a matter of fact, I am a Substitute Teacher here in Sioux Falls. - Thank God the school district didn't look down upon me during the hiring process. In fact, they were HAPPY TO EMPLOY THIS HOMELESS PERSON The shelter where I live, in FACT, is not full of "chaos". While there are occasional moments of drama, for the most part it is peaceful. I dare say, this shelter may be more clean, less chaotic and more peaceful than some of the homes of your congregation. The audacity of a man to preach such declarative broad-sweeping negative statements. Not very Jesus-like. Praise God and Hallelujah you're not living in a homeless shelter, hm? - Maybe passive-aggressive or gossipy of me to post this here instead of talking to you directly. But a. I was upset And b. It's apparent your closed-minded judgement wouldn't magically be swayed by anything I say. - That's between you and God to be enlightened. ps)Guess who parks his cybertruck smack at the front door ea Sun. hint: he ain't Jesus I’ve been attending this church for about 2 months. After the very first service I went to I realized I found what I’ve been looking for. I really enjoy this church because Pastor Alex makes the sermons easy to follow, and he always keeps things interesting. His teachings feel very true and meaningful to me, and I appreciate that he teaches in a way that helps me learn. For me, church is about learning and Pastor Alex excels at communicating and sharing the word of God in a way that is easy to understand and there’s no sugar coating. He says it how it is!! I look forward to learning something new every Sunday and his passion is contagious! The church itself feels warm and is full of nice, welcoming people. I also want to add that I read previous reviews about this church and people had concerns about the fog machine/strobe lights and they no longer use those since I’ve been attending. Which I think is great that the church listened to those comments. Love this church!! The atmosphere here is so amazing! The leaders and pastors are amazing! The preaching is on point! Such a great church to be apart of!! Anytime I walk into new life church I greeted with a smile! 🙌🏻🤍
