I cannot say enough good things about Restore Austin. This church has truly changed my life and completely transformed the way I view church and my faith. I had almost given up on finding a place that felt genuine, welcoming, and truly reflective of what I believe it means to follow Christ - but Restore Austin has been exactly that. What I love most about Restore is its authentic commitment to living out the teachings of Jesus: loving all people, serving your neighbor, and supporting the community both inside and outside the church walls. Every sermon is thoughtful and applicable to real life, and Pastor Zach - and the entire pastoral team - are incredible leaders whose hearts for the congregation and the broader community shine through in everything they do. I wholeheartedly recommend this church to anyone seeking a welcoming faith community that embraces all people - wherever you are in your journey and of any race, gender, or background - and genuinely cares for and supports its members. I joined restore almost a year ago through a friend. I have visited several churches in Austin and though I felt welcomed I found myself being fed teachings that were not in alignment with how I believe we should treat, care and love one another. This community is truly a blessing in Austin and I appreciate their dedication and love for the city. If you are looking for a church that is authentic and has a true “heart” devoted to Christ, I cannot recommend Restore enough. The best church experience I have ever had. A place of inclusion, justice but also of teaching the word. Understanding how to read the Bible with context. We attend through the online church and we will never go to any other church, my only wish is there was a location in Houston Texas! Cannot recommend more! On my first day, it was so clear that I’d be both welcomed with open arms *and* be challenged by the way of Jesus and the truths of Scripture each week. I’ve been inspired by how different congregants are working for justice and mercy in the city, and how easy it is to get involved with good boots-on-the-ground love of neighbor. I’ve also received great comfort - not just from church leaders, but also from peers who in my estimation understand the love of Jesus. There are people of all ages in this church, but my favorite moments have been in the young adults small groups. I’ve discovered healing for wounds that I didn’t even realize were there by reading Scripture and talking about God with these groups. I don’t think this church has all the answers, but that’s not the point anyway: weekly you will be pointed to the One who *is* Truth, encouraged to walk in His way, and the result that im seeing so far is Life. If you want to go somewhere where people will know your name and where you can take what you learn on Sunday and put it into action on Monday, get involved with this church. It’s too good to gatekeep :) As a low income neurodivergent woman of color who is the first in my family to attend college and has a father in prison, and experience so much hardship, I always appreciate the messages as they feel very empowering. The community is amazing and really makes you feel loved. I love their commitment to making people like me feel seen and heard. As a diverse person with many identities and diverse background Restore Austin makes me feel included and celebrated. The words of Jesus brings about healing and empowerment to take action towards restoration for the betterment of our society for the sake of equity and equality. I love how they make sure to include diverse people preaching as well because representation matters to me. Love is always at the heart of their message. If you are going through a rough time, or need some empowerment or wonder what to do in such a chaotic and overwhelming world I think there is so much wisdom and great stories shared from the Bible that we can take away and out into the world as we try to be more like Jesus.
