What visitors say
Best church ever! People are friendly and receptive, kind and generous. I love the pastors and the messages. This is a church where the word of God is preached without deviations or distortions. I think if anyone is looking for a compassionate, welcome church with lots of friendly people, excellent kids and student ministry, a place to serve and help the community, Hill Country is the place to go. I have been a member for 13+ years and our family calls HC a second home. The teaching is from the Bible and real-to-life. The music is inspiring. If you want to get to know people, then joining a small group or serving on a volunteer team are the best ways. And though we don’t personally utilize it, there is a strong ministry for special needs kids. I went for the Saturday Easter service as a first time visitor. The message was dry and a bit disconnected. I can only recall one scripture quoted during the sermon portion and it was not 100% accurate, but more of a paraphrase which can mislead those that are unknowledgeable Christians and those that are nonChristian. The singing portion of the service was ok...but I was hoping to be urshered into the presence of God. Funny thing...I hope the person that mistakenly took my Bible enjoys it. It is possible the person(s) thought it was a purse however, they got more value since it was the Word if God. So I am still searching for a unapologetic God pleasing, Christ believing congregation. It was my first time there. It was Easter Sunday and we were there for a family member's baptism. The singing, the music, the baptisms were so emotional and overwhelming! It was truly a blessed day! 🙏 Huge, genuine feeling church. Pastor is spot on- but way too big for us. Feels like you would just be lost in the crowd. I appreciated the humility of the pastor— don’t always experience that. Problem with big churches is that no one talks to you… you just feel you are one in a million. But how do you solve that? You don’t with a big church.
