The singing is awful. The worship pastor Andrew is so terrible that everytime they begin singing it is the boldest display of heresy I have ever seen in my life. He never allows other male singers to even be heard. Everything else is OK but something needs to be done about that man. Everyone knows his singing bites and that’s the reason why so many members of the congregation are running for the hills to Venture Church to escape from this mockery of worship and music as a whole. The other singers are alright and the instrument players, especially the electric guitarists, are extremely talented and deserve to be able to display their talents where they won’t be overpowered by him. Absolutely disappointing. Current Church in Katy has some of the best soccer fields in the area! Well-maintained grass, plenty of space, and a clean, family-friendly environment. The kids love playing here and there’s always a great community vibe. Perfect spot for practices and games! Very beautiful and very spiritual. You feel it as soon as you walk in. It's a modern church, with an old school feel. I have been looking for a home Church in my area and had started attending this church about a month ago. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the pastor is usually on point, for the most part, but the lackluster Praise and Worship team just kills the vibe every time!. It seems like they are afraid to sing popular or upbeat praise songs and choose to highlight tune-less, far-fetched, unknown songs that are never uplifting to the spirit. I attended the highly promoted event for Christmas on December 23rd and brought 6 people with me to the 8pm service. Expected to hear the popular Christmas songs that bring joy to the heart, only heard 3, out of possibly 10 that were sung. Instead we heard strange, unrecognizable Christmas songs that seem to have been made up by the Praise team. Chosen songs were very slow, boring, nothing we could sing along to. Because we could not participate in the singing, we felt no joy in the celebration, no happiness in being there. Music is a big part of worshiping God .. it revives the spirit. and He expects us to make a Joyful Noise, especially for the birth of his Son. Sadly this was not the case. Poor singing coupled with what should have been a "Good Friday" sermon about being God's enemy if we don't follow him, left us feeling empty and very disappointed. We expected more from a celebration of the most important event in history. I'm still looking for a home Church, hoped this was it, but realized I have to keep looking. This is a great church! We have been attending for about 8 years and they are very friendly and make you feel like family. They also have children church and services for teens. They also help in the community and serve many mission trips around the world.
