What visitors say
The pastor is not afraid to speak the truth, and his sermons are powerful. The kids ministry is safe and secure, but the little kid ministry (pre-k) videos are too long and there are always teachers talking through the videos so it’s very distracting (and a tiny bit rude- it’s hard enough to focus.) However, they do big lesson cards that reiterate the lesson back in the classrooms so I love that. And I will say all the teachers and volunteers (including me) are SO sweet and love kids. They truly seem to have a passion for Christ and children. Also, if you have to use the restroom during the adult service you get locked out!!! I have health issues and had to use the restroom and tried to go back. A security guy told me I can’t go back to my seat unless I’m on the back row. He was pretty rude about it and I told him I was on the back row (only by coincidence and God’s grace,) and he did let me in (probably because I was starting to panic and start crying) but he gave a stern warning that once the service starts… if you leave… you can’t get back in. I 100% understand churches needing security, but if you have health issues or are older— this is an issue! Don’t forget your cell to text your husband that you’re not allowed back in. Also, my mom tried to join this church with us, and they wouldn’t let her be a member unless she got BAPTIZED AGAIN because she wasn’t baptized into a Baptist church. She was baptized at 14 yrs old by being dunked in a tub of water at a non-denominational church. I understand asking people be baptized again if they were sprinkled as babies or never baptized (as those aren’t biblical baptisms,) but my mom was of age, accepted Christ, and dunked in water as a public proclamation; if you’re baptized legit then you’re baptized. I think it’s ethically wrong to demand someone be baptized again. Don’t get me wrong, this is a Bible-based Spirit-filled church. The sermons and worship are AMAZING. They are so loving and there’s always something going on. Get involved and it’s a wonderful place to be. I just don’t agree with everything they do, and my health makes their security rules hard. Prestonwood Baptist Church is a phenomenal place of worship, and our family is incredibly grateful for the impact it has made in our lives. This summer, our kids attended the Vacation Bible School (VBS), and they had an absolute blast learning about God in a fun, high-energy environment. The entire experience was exceptional, largely thanks to the wonderful staff and volunteers who were incredibly friendly, approachable, and truly dedicated to the children. The facilities here are absolutely amazing—modern, safe, beautifully maintained, and perfectly equipped for families. If you love the energy, resources, and dynamic worship of a mega-church, this is absolutely the place to be. While the scale of the campus is massive, the church has a beautiful way of making the community feel tightly knit and deeply personal. To experience that close fellowship, you just need to be intentional about plugging in, whether that is through small groups, volunteer ministries, or family events. Prestonwood excels at providing a welcoming sanctuary where families can anchor themselves in a strong, biblical worldview. It is a true blessing to have such a vibrant, Christ-centered community right here to help us grow together in faith. NOT a welcoming or open community for outside families. I am writing this to warn other parents who are considering sending their children to Prestonwood's youth programs or Vacation Bible School (VBS). We chose to send our 8-year-old daughter here thinking it was a kind, welcoming, Christian environment. Instead, it proved to be an incredibly rigid, exclusionary, and hurtful space. During a discussion about baptism at camp, my daughter mentioned that she had been baptized as a baby (in our Episcopal tradition). An adult instructor literally told an 8-year-old child that hers "wasn't a real baptism." To say something so deeply invalidating and disrespectful to a young child is completely unacceptable. We have raised our daughter to respect other people's religious backgrounds, yet she was met with judgment by an adult leader who decided her family’s faith traditions weren't legitimate. If this church community cannot handle questions, differences, or basic respect for other Christian backgrounds, they need to limit their programs strictly to their own congregation. What my child experienced here was not Christian. Look elsewhere if you want an actual welcoming environment for your kids. We were visiting Dallas and wanted to try a negachurch. Giant churches can tend to get a bad rap. We wanted to decide for ourselves (we went to several on our journey from Canada). This one was very Spirit-led. It was so evident. Far more than we expected. We expected amazing production and professionalism but got so much more. We were hugely blessed at this church. Treated like royalty when we told them our was our first time. We had front row seats! Pastor Graham came and spoke to us and we didn't even know he was the pastor until he preached. He preached truth unabashedly. You won't get a watered down gospel here. The message was powerful and I couldn't take notes fast enough. Great quote from pastor Jack in the photos. Worship was quite the production but I don't mean that in a negative way. They are giving their best for God and it was beautiful. Orchestra, huge choir, incredible worship leaders. After the service we visited the guest center where we were given free passes for lunch (available weekly), a book by Pastor Jack and free kids Bibles for our kids. The free lunch was fantastic! So much variety. Menu posted. It allows for fellowship. There were hundreds there. We checked out the gift shop and it was very unique. Not just your typical Christian bookstore wares. A lot of beautiful art especially. We bought an adorable animated kids Bible. Fantastic experience here in every way. Our kids didn't attend the Sunday school as they wanted to stay with us so I can't speak to that. Such a beautiful sanctuary. Loving staff was very helpful and got everything rolling right away to transfer my membership from my former church. Looking forward to making this my new home church.
