Invited by a friend to attend Alamo City Church. Nice facility. Warm welcome by those positioned at church entrance and later by members inside. Pamphlet was of little use. A service program was not in print form. A band led the congregation in singing, a marquee displayed the words to be sung. No sacraments were served. No baptisms performed. The Younger minister Long spoke for about an hour on Trust & how it related to his personal life. Ended service with a prayer. If I could leave no stars, I would. My family and I attended this church when we first moved here but soon found that we weren't worthy of their love or attention, the only 4 people that spoke to us were the ushers and door greeter's and mind you, we attended for maybe 7 or 8 months both Sundays and Wednesdays. I don't know if it is because my husband is covered in tattoos or if we're too brown for them. The only reason we continued going was because the praise and worship was amazing and to HEAR the word. The last straw was when the pastor brought in the assistant pastor and told the congregation that if they didn't like the fact of him bringing him into the church that they can just never come back, a pastor is supposed to lead his flock to the Lord NOT kick them to the curb because they don't like something. It wasn't because of the assistant pastor but because of what the pastor said and how he said it. It really upset my husband and we haven't been back since. If you want to find a church that welcomes you and HELPS you with anything you may need, I would recommend our new church TOWN EAST BAPTIST CHURCH, if you want to be ignored and looked down on by the pastor then go ahead and visit Alamo city church. I was so broken and lost when I came to this church in 2024, I didn’t grow up knowing who Jesus is so I came wanting to know more and came in high so many times and never I did feel judged by the people greeting me and most of the time one lady would hug me when I smelled very strong of weed, the love they give is definitely the Holy Spirit in them and showing me Jesus in themselves , I got baptized here in 9/1/25 and now I am 1 year and 8 months sober Glory be to Jesus Our Lord and Savior 🙌🏽, I thank pastor David and Pastor Albert for preaching the Good News and all the staff who never looked at me differently when I was at my lowest, they all helped me to have my relationship with Jesus and I’m forever grateful to all in this church! ❤️ This church is great for people new to the area and they need a shoulder to lean on. The people here are absolutely wonderful and welcoming! You can tell from the pastor down that they truly love the Lord! Alamo City Church is my church family. It is a wonderful place to worship and ask for help. They are a very special community and truly care for others. The pastor is very knowledgeable and a great teacher. If you can’t make it to the church you can connect with them on YouTube and join them on live streaming of the Sunday and Wednesday services. You can even post a message or prayer request online and connect with the prayer team that monitors the online services. I have learned so much from this church family and they are all so supportive and welcoming. During the worship time and teaching time you can feel the presence of God.
