What visitors say
As soon as you enter you feel like you're home. Pastor Howard-John Wesley always brings a mighty Word and he did not disappoint on this occasion. I was a first time visitor ready for the queue for the 11am service. I arrived via Amtrak and based on the train schedule I arrived @ 8:30am. A kind greeter asked me if I wished to join the 8 am service but I politely declined. I traveled from Las Vegas and I was determined to be present for the full service. I was allowed to wait inside with others. Those who are differently-abled or have mobility issues are ushered inside to wait. While waiting for the 11am service I was met with every grace and hospitality. Alfred St Baptist church certainly walks and talks with the true mission of the Lord in mind. I was made to feel welcome and met many wonderful people. This church blesses many people and I was blessed to be able to attend in person. What a joy and an honor to be in the presence of a faith filled community. As I return home I will continue to watch this service online. Pastor Howard-John Wesley's sermons are so full, they are all worthy of multiple viewings. Peace and Blessings to the Pastor, Deacons and congregants. This is an awesome church, where the spirit of God is definitely present. I started traveling from Delaware to be in the presence with the saints. Pastor Dr. Howard-John Wesley, is the real deal. The Lord uses him mightily to bring forth the word of God. A right now messenger for the state of the world today. Top of the day to you and everyone attached to you. Whom ever will read this and pass the message. I Prayed for God to send me a word as only he can. I came upon A crucifixion 3/11 W/Luke 1:37 Not only a scripture it’s my mom that reared me (orphan) Birthday flipped 3/17 that I observed on a idle register 3/10 3/12 I came in contact with someone who shares her name. When he mentioned connecting the dots it confirmed she is near me 🕊️What resonated sooo heavily it’s nothing I’ve done so great. When Rev. Dr. Wesley said you’re worthy it laid on my heart. This was my first visit I have A church Home Faith Temple No2 Capitol Hts MD they were in NJ culmination of the Conference. Timing allowed me to be present for a word that will live rent free in my head. Very warm church ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🙏🏿 Minimize Distractions to keep your Peace from Being Penetrated as you continue your Journey through this thing called Life. That has become my benediction parting. Will visit again. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿 And he mentioned my middle name given to me by the parents that reared me. Joseph I READ THIS REVIEW AND WAS SHOCKED!!! (Posted Review) I was trying my best to stop Satan from causing me to lose everything my late mother and I owned. I turned to God for help and believed I was reaching out to God's people, but Satan ended up being Alfred Street Church. They became the reason my things were placed in auction, and they showed no concern about the devastation this caused in my life. I made my payments in June and July and was current until the system covered their bounced check and placed me behind for July and August. This would never have been allowed to occur because another church would have been contacted and helped, had Alfred Street not agreed to pay and who would ever expect a church to lie, break their word or place a homeless person at risk by seeking revenge for his complaints about loneliness, depression and not getting spiritual guidance when mourning ? In April 2026, I was experiencing one of the darkest periods of my life. I had recently lost my mother, lost the home I had lived in for five years, exhausted my financial resources, and was battling severe depression. My spirit was broken. I had read that Alfred Street Baptist Church had donated one million dollars to help prevent families from being evicted. Believing I had found a ministry committed to helping people in crisis, I reached out for assistance. My immediate need was to prevent my storage units from going into default. My balance was approximately $1,100 for two storage units that contained virtually everything I owned, including my late mother's belongings. I was informed that the church would assist with the payment by the first of the month. However, the payment was not made until approximately the 12th, resulting in additional late fees. The payment process involved a church check, my debit card, and additional time for the funds to clear. During this period, my emotional condition continued to deteriorate. As I struggled with depression and recurring suicidal thoughts, I repeatedly reached out to the church—not simply for financial assistance, but for ministry, prayer, encouragement, and compassion. Rev. Marcia had voluntarily provided her cell phone number, and I called seeking help. I also left voicemail messages and emails for Angela Liggins and Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley. I received no response. On Mother's Day, I asked for help. No one responded. When I was hospitalized, I requested prayer. Again, there was no response. For me, this was painful. I was not only asking for assistance; I was reaching out to people I believed represented Christ. I was asking for ministry, counseling, prayer, and simple human compassion. As the weeks turned into months, the silence became overwhelming. Nearly three months later, after feeling unable to continue carrying the emotional burden alone, I sent another email specifically requesting ministry and counseling. Once again, I received no response. Then I received a devastating call from my storage company. I was informed that the payment from Alfred Street Baptist Church had been returned and that my account had accumulated additional late fees and returned-check fees. I was told my balance had grown to approximately $2,300 and that my property—including my late mother's possessions—was scheduled for auction unless the balance was immediately paid. I was about to lose everything my mother and I had left. Desperate, I contacted 7 On Your Side News to report what had happened. I also called the church's finance director, Solomon Michaels, and left a voicemail from the cell phone number I was given. When he returned my call, he allegedly told me Nevermind, forget you," and hung up. Shocked, I called back seeking clarification, but my calls were not answered. I absolutely enjoy the Pastors messages and the worship . I’m in Florida and that’s unfortunate because I can not attend in person. I have shared the website with others and encouraged them to watch . I appreciate his encouragement in the word in some troubling times. We need hope and. Direction. God’s word through the Pastors preaching in an amen! blessing Pastor Wesley! Thank you
