March 14, 2019 attended Unashamed forever tour here! Excited to see 4 of my favorte Christian Rap Artist tonight! Lecrae, Trip Lee, KB, Andy Mineo! I came late (30 min) so take what I say with a grain of salt. I was driving in from Maryland so I live pretty far. I’ve been trying to find a good church to go to. There weren’t any ushers or volunteers randomly standing around. I was used to that from the small town church I grew up going to (even if you were late there were always volunteers). Nobody really acknowledged me (but that’s okay!). A bunch of people were talking outside the auditorium…no one was really paying attention to the pastor preaching. I just shrugged it off but still found it a little bizarre. Quietly found a seat in the auditorium. The pastor was talking about the Pharisees and having the heart of a Christian and it’s not just about your outward actions? I don’t know. A lot got lost in translation. Again, I came late so I really want to give this church another chance. The pastor was not the most eloquent pastor I’ve listened to. He was hard to follow at times. I sympathize with him a bit because the church was dead. Not lively at all. The people outside the auditorium seemed to be enjoying themselves more than those inside the auditorium during worship and the sermon. It kind of made me sad. I will give it another shot because I want to be fair (with me being late and all) but I’m not sure this place is for me. I found the whole experience very cold. I will go back in 2 weeks and change my review if I feel differently. Great place to worship. They offer many classes and have children's, teen, and young adult teachings and classes. It's a church of diversity. They host community events with serving it as well. This church is another definition of a fluff church. And I'm focusing on the people that consider themselves volunteering and Christians. Today was my first time visiting this church and waking in it was beautiful on the outside, like some things that are beautiful on the outside, this inside was rotting with the people inside. I walked up the stairs assuming there was a top entrance not to disrupt service as I was late. I ran into this brunette, who didn't introduce herself, but seemed taken back that I was there interrupting her conversation with her other volunteers. She asked what I was looking for I said honestly I don't know. She asked where I was trying to go, I honestly said I don't know I'm new. She walked me ONLY to the top of the stairs and pointed, go there for first time and go around the corner for kids service. REALLY that's being Christian? That's helping your fellow man. Just point. Lord if you can see some of your children now and the kindness that stops only at their comfort. She could've walked me down introduced me to the front desk and down me the kids center, but no she was apparently performing heart surgery and going out of her way would ruin that person's life (sarcasm, I apparently interrupted her conversation and she couldn't be bothered). I couldn't stay after this experience. I can't speak on the service but after this experience with one person filled me with disappointment that it doesn't matter how expensive your county maybe. What is portrayed by what you pay can still lack what you are taught. Money or not - what is on the outside does not represent the fake heart that lives underneath. Was kicked out of a grass field today for the first time for flying with my father. It was apparently associated to this church. With the amount of property they control in Ashburn I’m not sure how this is improving our community.
