We have made this home church as we moved to east coast last year. Since the beginning we have felt welcome and part of a big family. Everybody keeps a friendly attitude and you can feel a family atmosphere. Pastors are great and deliver sound doctrine in every Sunday sermon. They have activities for all family members and each month you may find additional events to participate in. They also have home groups, Bible study groups during the week from September to May. If you live in the Fairfax area or surrounding cities, feel free to visit this church anytime, you may find your new family Christ here! This church has felt like home since we first attended. The teaching is thoughtful and engaging. Our whole family enjoys fellowship and my time at the Thursday morning women's Bible study has helped me build relationships. We love our church family! I'm so thankful my family found City Gates Church. We attended another Calvary Chapel from our previous state and loved it. Since we moved to Virginia, I wanted to find our church family and who has the same morals and values that we believe in, especially for our little ones. When I attended my first service in June, I knew that this place is truly special. We have attended regularly and if we can't attend the church provides the audio and we sit and listen to never miss the week's message. Everyone has been so welcoming and we truly can feel the presence of Christ during worship. The City Gates Church in Fairfax is a wonderful place to worship, fellowship, and praise God. The community is warm and welcoming, and the worship services are truly uplifting. Pastor Jeff is an amazing pastor and teacher, delivering insightful and inspiring messages each week. I always leave feeling spiritually nourished and closer to God. Highly recommend! This is a Bible believing church. The Word is taught book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse. Pastor Jeff doesn’t shy away from the hard issues or culturally difficult implications of the verses in God’s Word. Rather, he thoughtfully and (obviously) prayerfully presents the Word with accuracy and doesn’t try to cover up or tread lightly on the cultural divisions of our day. The worship team leads you into worship with humble heart attitude and doesn’t sing ambiguous songs of love to no one. The worship is sound doctrinally and the song choice is divers with hymns, contemporary and even a little blue grassy from time to time. Pastor Stephen heads the City Gates Youth Group that is vibrant and growing, where the Word of God is taught with clarity and power. Over all, this church is FIRE!!
