What visitors say
Thankful to have call this church home for 4 years while in lived in DC area! MPC really lives out their mission “We exist to glorify and enjoy God by making disciples who make a difference through grace-filled worship, community, and missions.“ I am incredibly grateful for the wisdom, truth, and love that were shared with me during my time there! I have been a member at this church for over ten years. In the last few years, the church has expanded to two other locations at high schools in Fairfax and Herndon to accommodate growing membership with a static location footprint at McLean. Services three times at McLean (two morning and one evening) combine a mixed music style (contemporary in the evening), traditional Presbyterian liturgy, and sermon series largely on topical themes or books of the Bible. The church follows reformed theology consistent with their affiliation with the Presbyterian Church in America, so teaching may have differences with other presbyterian denominations such as the Presbyterian Church USA or the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. The church has had a few senior pastors in the time I have attended. Various community groups exist for those in different areas in the region or different life stages. Care ministries offer support for people experiencing any kind of personal challenges. Missions work inspires not only sponsoring long-term missionaries but also short-term mission trips to a number of different places in the world. Christian education for adults has been recently rebranded and themed through new classes offered at all three locations. All in all this church incorporates solid theology with an emphasis on community. I am from Annapolis, MD and visited the church for Easter service with my adult daughter. It was an excellent event with good preaching, great music and warm people. It was an outstanding service. MPC has been my church home for 4+ years now. DC can feel pretty transient, but this community is welcoming no matter how long you plan to stick around. I've learned so much about God's grace. And it's changing how I live my life and opening my eyes to God's work in the world. Grace does change everything. Nice church for a wedding. Very picturesque, especially for a more modern church. I especially enjoyed shooting in the courtyard and using the balcony.
