I personally emailed the pastor of Discovery Methodist Church in Richmond multiple times on behalf of someone in need. He never responded. For a leader who claims to represent Methodist values of compassion, service, and care, this silence is unacceptable. A pastor’s role is to shepherd, not ignore. Failing to even acknowledge a plea for help is not leadership—it’s hypocrisy. A church that welcomes people with open arms. I dont feel like i am out of place here. I finally feel like i found a place that i beling to and want to explore my faith. Discovery Methodist Church completely failed to respond to repeated outreach from a person in need—calls, emails, nothing. For a church that claims to follow Methodist values of compassion and service, this silence is hypocritical and damaging. Ignoring the vulnerable is the opposite of living Christian values. Took me a long time to find my church family, but Discovery instantly provided the welcome I was seeking and engagement my children needed. Plus their small groups are extremely interesting, educational, and thought provoking. Participating in my 5th book now - Five Love Languages. Walking through Discovery's doors 3 years ago has given my family the worship, community and friendship to enrich our lives. Thank you! I have been a member for over 10 years. Still just as inviting as it was then. Pastor Adam Sowder is genuine which is important to me because he's not just up there doing a job, he's a true believer and preaches from the heart.
