Just moved to Cheyenne and this was the first church i attended. It was Easter weekend and the people just stood during the singing and the pastor gave a service lacking any emotion and looked angry! I want to see love and happiness and this church was the opposite! Getting hard to find a church here! Great to listen to the messages from Pastor Karl. Very friendly Church and great to fellowship with others! Attended a service this Sunday with my wife and 3 small children. What a welcoming environment! We very much enjoyed the message and my kids loved it! Highly recommend Capital City Church. I have attended First Baptist Church with my wife and her parents starting about 35 years ago. My wife and I stopped attending during the phase when the church went away from traditional service’s. Her Parents attended and were very active members for over 60 years serving in the choir, on committees and teaching Sunday school for a number years. As they grew older my father in law would still attend and tied. My mother in-laws Health reached a point that she no longer could attend. Slowly my Father In-law has reached a point when he could only attend a few Services a year. At no point in their declining years did any church member contact them or offer to help them make services. My mother in law passed away this August 2021 and when my Father in-law contacted First Baptist he was told that the church did not have anyone to conduct her funeral service even though not date for the service had been set. I gave two stars for the early years of the Church. I don’t know if I’ve ever been more disappointed in a church then the way First Baptist treats their Elderly members. Went to service today for the first time, it was decent. After i sat sipping some lemonade at the largest table in the center. Not one person came up to greet me or say hi. There was a song in the service about no fear in gods love. So either they do still have fear, or they lacked the compassion to greet a stranger. Such a shame. Where is the love?
