⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Today was the very first time I have ever voluntarily stepped foot inside a church (as an adult), both for myself and for my 5-year-old daughter—and I can honestly say, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than at Essential Church. I had spent weeks combing through websites, searching for a place that felt like “home” the first time, because I didn’t want my daughter’s first impression of church to be a negative one. Some churches made me uneasy right away with things like asking about annual income on visitor forms or stating they would “discipline you into loving Jesus.” That’s not what I was looking for at all. When I found Essential Church’s website, it immediately felt different—welcoming, genuine, and aligned with what my heart was hoping for. From the moment we arrived, we felt seen and cared for. We had to park down the road, but a church bus was already out, ready to give rides back to the building—such a thoughtful detail. Inside, people noticed we were new and went out of their way to greet us and make us feel welcome. As a mom who has never left her child with anyone besides grandparents, I was especially impressed by the level of safety and protection in the kids’ ministry. The secure check-in system gave me a unique code that matched with my daughter’s, and there was even a police officer present for extra security. That gave me such peace of mind. The main assembly was filled with people from all walks of life—no pressure to look a certain way, no judgment. Just everyday people gathered to worship. They even had coffee and snacks available, which felt like a sweet blessing since we drove 30 minutes to get there and I had skipped my morning coffee to get out the door. The best part of all? When I picked up my daughter, she ran to me smiling and said, “Mom, I loved it here. I hope we come back!” My heart was so relieved—and I couldn’t agree with her more. Before we left, they gave us a thoughtful gift and even a card with the pastor’s direct contact info, which made the experience feel personal and sincere. Essential Church lived up to its name—it was exactly what we needed, and I’m so thankful our first church experience was here. We will definitely be back! Best Church in town!! Great Bible based preaching, and the only church I found in Huntsville that allows misfits like me to come and jump Right In and serve... And if you haven't been there you got to go because Jesus is moving in this place!!! I love this church! When we first moved to Huntsville we tried 2 different churches and we weren’t really feeling a spark then we found essential and immediately fell in love! It is a “small” church and it feels like home, they are sooooo welcoming and we are very involved in the church and the worship is AMAZING! They annoy all the neighbors by knocking on doors trying to preach at us. This is Five Points, many of us (more than the average population) don’t believe as they do. The Presbyterian church that was there before was much better, they minded their own business. Wonderful experience attending Essential. Have been going for several months. This is my home church now. Pastor Tim is amazing and everyone is happy. It is a very happy place filled with love, worship and song.
