This is a warm and engaging church. The sermons are focused on the Bible, with amazing messages, focused on improving understanding in the Christian walk and encouraging growth. The pastors excel at understanding the realities of life and they don’t shy away from tough issues. Their sermons are relatable every single week to regular people. Humor is a strength and belly laughs happen (not the focus, but helps with retention). Every week the messages speak to your heart about loving God and loving people. I continue to mature in my faith and grow and this leadership helps immensely. Jesus, when handed a scroll, read aloud then, expounded on it, explaining the meaning. That’s similar to how Sun Valley Community Church teaches and preaches. They don’t just reference a scripture and talk. They open the scriptures, read them aloud, often time many scriptures, then expound on them, explain how it relates to your life today. They show how certain scriptures, compound with others to clarify, the message. They’re brave enough to have their biblical worldview beliefs on their website, and they stand firmly on the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, and the Bible as the foundation. Also they don’t just teach, they serve and challenge the people to serve, the memorize, and challenge the people to memorize the Scripture. Ultimately they teach how Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Word of God, and how he’s the way, the truth, and the Life. I’m so impressed. My wife and I have been attending Sun Valley Church for several years now. The pastor Chad Moore is extremely humble and gives a great sermon. There are many volunteers when you come on Sundays happy to give you a hello with a smile or help you to a lemonade or coffee. The kids absolutely love it! They are preteen age and this is the first church we’ve attended where they are excited to go. They’ve attended the summer camps as well, and are excited to go back this summer. Our home church isn’t Sun Valley but I wanted to share how personable & caring the pastor and staff were for me recently. My 13-year old daughter wanted to go to THEIR camp because that’s where her best friend was going right after I unexpectedly get laid off from my awesome job along with half the company. They went above & beyond for non-members to help to ensure my daughter got to experience the Holy Spirit with her best friend at camp this summer! I had the pastor and two others reach out to make sure we got things squared away. Kaitlyn was especially on top of things the whole time. We are going to have to visit once in a while. Thank you all for your selfless work! This is not a Bible-preaching church. This is a church that uses scripture references to make a popular culture psychology speech to have everyone feel good about their life. It's extremely sad to see so many people without discernment listening to the incredibly bad "preaching". Mat 7 "15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
