I was contemplating on leaving a review but the way so many families are struggling rn , I felt like I should warn anyone else looking for churches who offer assistance. I filled out there benevolence form, I received a call back in 24 hrs just for them to automatically deny me, please there are families struggling right now if you are going to immediately turn families away there no point in calling back. Please provide more information on the requirements to getting help instead of just telling someone you guys don’t have funds and if you don’t have funds please also update information so people don’t waste there time filling out forms that they have no chance in receiving help . I use to attend this church when Dean Kuest was the pastor, he was hardly there and when he was the first thing he would ask for to all the people who were in attendance is to donate MONEY? Church is not about MONEY? It is suppose to be about enlightenment, inspiration, fellowship etc... I stopped going here because all Dean cared about was MONEY! He use to brag about his son's college education at ASU if I remember correctly. ASU's tuition was expensive back then and is more expensive! now. Also at the end of service he would ask the congregation for MONEY! How do you think he was able to put his son through college? One day i went to attend service Dean literally followed me around in the lobby? Made me feel completely unwelcomed. I use to attend the Men's Recovery group on Friday nights also but I stopped attending that cause it was unstructured. I'm happy to say I been Alcohol free since September of 2018. The reason I'm sharing this now is because it seems nothing has changed here. The cost of living is outrageous in Phoenix and the surrounding areas there are people who can barely make ends meet! It's extremely disappointing and sad that all this place cares about is what amount of MONEY you can donate. That is the truth. After the band played a few songs before service all we would do is watch videos of another pastor? giving a sermon from another church location? A huge let down! that's why so many people leave and go elsewhere. Dean and his crew would go to Israel on Vacation on your dime with the money people donated? And used it to live in their big nice houses and to drive their nice car's? While everyone else is struggling to pay rent,bills,groceries,gas and can't even afford health care or prescriptions? But this is a "Christian"church? You do the math. Big clean friendly church. They offer free hot dogs after Saturday night service and a free t-shirt for newcomers. I don't like how often they talk about money and how their main pastor is just a recording of some pastor somewhere else played on a screen. The location pastor Dean barley speaks which stinks cause I like him better....They have a great band and good music, and offer several courses/classes It's a fantastic church full of committed people. And a great community to support and be supported in life's struggles. I have friendships here that have endured for nearly three decades (from the Mesa campus). Come worship and find a community, a tribe, and a family. I truly appreciate how warm, accepting, and friendly everyone at Central Church is. The kindness and openness I experienced made a deep impression on me. I firmly believe that God works in mysterious ways, guiding our lives to intersect with others in ways that bring encouragement, joy, and spiritual growth. Being able to explore this beautiful country, which I call home, has been a profound blessing in itself. Although my physical home is over 1,600 miles away, I’ve always found that every place I go in the United States feels like home in its own way. My time here has been nothing short of rewarding, and I can confidently say that my experience at Central Church has added to that sense of belonging. I sincerely look forward to returning in the future, and when I do, I hope to spend more time getting to know more of this wonderful congregation.
