I tried connecting with one of the main pastors ~ pastor James. He couldn’t remember who I was and assumed some negativity (eg was puzzled by me saying I was married with kids and assumed I was otherwise single and living vicariously) when we had our one on one to assess me as a member. He seems to have a very narrow understanding of Biblical theology and you can tell by his language and how he speaks on things. I’ve been a believer since I was 13 years old, and I’ve experienced church judgment and he reminds me a lot of that. Now being a married person with kids I don’t have the patience for it. If you can’t and don’t agree with his points of view, he finds it offensive and almost as if you are beneath him. We are all sinners. Good theology doesn’t change that and make some Pharisees while others innocent. I’m not a liberal by any sense, but the church also doesn’t leave room for any nuance when it comes to being a member. If you speak for abortion or even question pro life (God forbid) you are a heathen, even when it comes to accounting for all the people who medically need it. It can feel very clannish to attend this church. I can’t say I have anything negative to say about Pastor Ray. He is genuine, on fire and I feel humbled in his presence. He really pours out Jesus’ meekness and love. He has a very good theological understanding and can preach on end times without making you feel judgment. I only wish we stayed long enough to connect with more people but it felt very clicky at times and it felt unwelcoming enough to have that interaction with Pastor James, to decide on another church, that felt more like home. Having left, no one I actually had met at the time keeps in touch regardless of how close they acted at the time and it’s unfortunate. Our Pastor closes our Church 1 Sunday every year and makes all of us go out to experience the whole Body of Christ and to take our tithes to that Church and bring back a bulletin so we can share our positive response and we pray over all the church's for wisdom , strength, healing, finances etc. Some of our congregation went to Texas and Louisiana. We went to Living Way and the messages were on point focusing on our youth amazing. Also there Worship is Fantastic. We will be going back in the future. Love this place!!! Pastors are on FIRE🔥🔥🔥for God and his word. Their heart for people and the Gospel is so evident- as well as embracing and preaching on diversity in the body of Christ from the pulpit. Really amazing place! I’ve learned and grow a lot here and have found family and community! If you want sound Biblical teaching from the pulpit, you're in the right place. Pastors James and Ray don't water it down, don't preach prosperity gospel and don't hold back. It is a church of sound doctrine and good people. Check it out for yourself! Absolutely love this church and this community - LivingWay has a deep love for Jesus, His Word, the His people. It really has been a joy to be a part of and can’t recommend it enough!
