I’m leaving this review to share a serious concern for anyone considering attending this church or engaging with this pastor’s ministry. In a recent Instagram video, the pastor said the following: “God wants His people to be unmoved by the headlines of the news....If you don’t get rooted and grounded in understanding through a Biblical worldview, prophetic worldview, lens of the news that’s around you, if you don’t get that down, you’re going to turn into a crazy lunatic that’s out on the streets in Minnesota crying.” Hearing a pastor speak this way, mocking and dismissing people who are genuinely scared, was deeply disturbing. Many people in Minnesota are experiencing real fear and trauma related to the current immigration climate. These are not just “headlines” to them; these are their lives, families, and communities. Faith in God does not stop bad things from happening, and it does not justify belittling people who are afraid or grieving. What stood out to me was not compassion or spiritual leadership, but a lack of empathy toward people who are suffering. I believe people deserve to know the tone, values, and character they may encounter before placing their trust in a pastor or church. My wife and I love Pastor Jack! We watch him live on youtube Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. The Bible is taught line by line in an interesting way that is understandable to regular people. Keep up the good work Jack Hibbs. He makes learning about the Bible so interesting and easy to understand and how having a personal relationship with Jesus is the most important thing in your life you can do and have. Thank you for spreading God's word. Cindy from Michigan I listened to a radio show and was dis-hearted that he would twist Bible verse to put control on women, Mary Magdalene was the first person that Jesus went to when he was resurrected and to show we are all equal in his eyes, but then centuries later all but a handful of apostles are credited and used in the New Testament the hypocrisy and Jesus knows this.. As an outsider to this great church, I watch on YouTube and other media outlets and I am very pleased with what seems to be correct teaching/preaching. I hope I have the opportunity to visit some day (as I live in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia). As a christian historian I value the accuracy in "Spiritual Information." Thank you to all the staff at Calvary Chapel and all those who support this great Ministry.
