This "All Are Welcome" church fulfills all my spiritual needs. The preaching is always Biblical and aligns my heart, soul, and mind. The option of attending a traditional or a contemporary style service is also welcoming. But wait. There's more! I'm a music guy and the 5 music ensembles and amazing musicians add even more energy every Sunday. Additionally the robust Concert Series is a delight. The opportunities to serve those in need are abundant with various local food banks and home building in Mexico. There are also discipleship courses and a dozen Life Groups to encourage deeper relationships and fellowship for all ages and stages of life. Scholarships are available for Summer Camps grades 3-12. Who could ask for anything more? A preschool? Yes the church has it's own open 5 days per week! I usually come as a guest with my girlfriend, and wow—this church really impressed me! The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and I’ve always felt accepted, even as a visitor. The sermons are short, concise, and meaningful, and the worship team is truly wonderful. Oh—and the food! That’s just the icing on the cake. If you’re looking for a new church home, definitely give FUMC a try. You won’t be disappointed! I absolutely love my church, First United Methodist of Chula Vista! The traditional and contemporary services are both inspiring, and the preaching and music are exceptional. There are 2 adult choirs, a children's choir and a Praise Band that includes some of our talented youth. There are Life Groups, Discipleship classes, Women's Fellowship and a Men's group. Activities for children include an active Children's Ministry program and busy youth group. We invite our pre-School families to participate in community events like Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat, and a yearly Easter Egg Hunt Celebration. The church sends lots of children and youth to summer camps, and a large number of our congregation travel to Ensenada every January to build homes for needy families. FUMCCV offers something for everybody. It is a special place where you can grow in your faith and where everyone is welcome! My family and I have been worshipping here for many years. We were looking for a church that was welcoming, had childrens ministries and good sermons on how to be more Christlike. We found this and a whole lot more. We quickly became part of the First United Methodist family by helping to build a house in Ensenada. On that trip we made amazing friendships rooted in our Christian faith and passion to help others in needs. We attend the contemporary service at 11am which has an amazing crossing band and is in the fellowship hall which is a little more informal. There is also a more traditional service at 9:30 in the church that has an amazing choir. I highly recommend First United Methodist Church to anyone looking for a place to worship where ALL are welcome! FUMCCV has been my family's home church for over 20 years. This is a church community that year after year, continues to teach us the love of Jesus; to lift up the other, to value the forgotten, to love our neighbor, and to care for the least and the lonely. Come and join us in worship.
