A former MLC student has publicly stated that after seeking guidance from a pastor at this church (who was then affiliated with MLC), he engaged in communications or actions that she characterized in a social media post as something she found to be inappropriate. His son has been charged in court now in 2025 with assault involving a student at MLS. Given multiple recent criminal cases involving WELS-affiliated staff, this raises concerns for me about broader accountability within the synod and how this church responds to such issues. It feels like a small town church and school; friendly people, a Christian atmosphere, Bible- based teaching, and wholesome, Godly preaching on Sundays. I went here for k-2 and for those years it was great! All the teachers are nice and all kids were friends! Simple, clear Biblical nessage with concern for the individual. Best church in Escondido.
