What visitors say
EDIT as of 2025: We no longer attend this church. While it is a fine space for white gay people, we did not find them receptive to our conecerns about POCs feeling underrepresented and listened to. The pastor of this church, whom we had a six-year relationship with, met us with defensiveness rather than concern and understanding. We cannot in good faith recommend this church to any POC. -- My partner and I found this church after we were kicked out of our former church for being gay. This church actually MEANS what they say about welcoming, loving, and fully including EVERYONE. Yes, this means affirming gay people in the church- in leadership and all positions- and not treating them like second class citizens. Pastor Mandye's messages are deep and often cover important social justice issues in our world today. This church also commits to helping our local community in Fullerton. This church is everything a church SHOULD be and puts their time, effort, and money into helping rather than keeping up with "appearances" like some of those other "hip" churches that don't practice what they preach! If you have been hurt by the church or have religious trauma- this is a safe place of healing for you This is a loving and gracious church! The first time I visited, I had many people come up and welcome me but no one ever pressured me to join. The congregation is kind and giving - it does feel like a "church family". Pastor Mandye is open-minded, listens and reminds us that our service goes outside of the church walls. It is wonderful to belong to a church that accepts and welcomes everyone regardless of race, housing situation or sexual orientation. The Outreach Ministry is very active in the community, from offering quarters to people at the laundromat to supporting a soup kitchen at a neighboring church. There is also an arm of the church (Week of Compassion) where you can donate to any cause or disaster and 100% of your donation goes to the cause. (The charity is supported by a substantial endowment.). There is no particular dress code, they sing praise songs and they sing hymns. The atmosphere is comfortable and loving...just as Jesus would want! I'm so happy I found this church! I was looking for a local church where I can worship, learn, connect, contribute and serve people in our community. I was intrigued when I'd seen this church feed the homeless. After checking out the website, I called Pastor Mandye to arrange an appointment to chat about what she believes, what she teaches and how the congregation works together outside the Sunday Experience. She spent dedicated, focused time with me and arranged for me to meet other parents in a similar situation. After a bit of previous "church trauma" it was difficult for me to enter a church building again. I was warmly welcomed by so many people and invited to participate in the choir and the Outreach Committee. I'm learning, worshiping, serving and have new friends! Pastor Mandye has a heart for truly including everyone and for social justice. I've found that Pastor Mandye and the people of this church "walk the walk" of including all, by welcoming, inviting people to join in and even electing a variety of folks to leadership positions. This has been my church "home" for over a year. I invite anyone seeking a loving church community to come and experience what I have. I am hearing worse and worse stories about how this church treats the public. The first thing that popped up was an auditor recording in front of this place on the sidewalk and these folks demanding to know their biz. Entitlement is not a good look, do better FCC. I go to the feed for the hungry on Wednesdays here and everytime i go i get harassed by the volunteers because the fact that I'm in my twenties and not homeless but i am hungry and in need. They judge me for the way i look not taking in to account that im in a financial rut with no money to feed my self or to buy my self clothes. I love going dont get me wrong but sometimes its my only meal of the week. If the volunteers are really doing this for God they need to look at themselves and stop judging people for the way they look.
