Church advertised they would provide Ash services on Ash Wednesday from 1-6pm. Many at 4:30 were outside wandering with no clue and doors locked. I had called and the woman on the phone said they had closed at 5 (it wasn’t even 5 yet). She stated they closed it since no one had been coming to stop by. Many people showed up after 4 due to getting off of work and were left confused and saddened that they couldn’t recieve this reminder of mortality as they prepare their hearts for Easter. The Spirit of the Lord moves within St. Matthew's church. The community is very loving and welcoming to all! This is one place to come and feel great. You can feel the warmth as the people there greets you. Welcomes you like a family. Padre Arturo is an amazing leader. We couldn't be at a better place to teach our girls to love God and follow their lifes on the way to Gods. Saint Matthew Ecumenical "Catholic" Church is not really Catholic, they are not in communion with the Bishop of Orange or with the Pope and other bishops of the Catholic Church. There are several friendly and welcoming Catholic Churches in the area (i.e. Saint Angela Merici, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Saint Mary's, Saint Martin de Porres, Saint Denis, etc) please do not go here thinking this is a Catholic Church even though some of the trappings and prayers are taken from the Catholic Church. I pray that those running and attending this Church will come home to the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that we may be one in Him and His Church as He commanded not separated by following our own ways instead of His. Thanks be to God always This place is unlike any other church I have ever been to and that's a GOOD thing. The nicest, most genuine people you will ever meet. Zero judgement, casual attire and everyone is welcome. I had been turned off by churches due to the hypocrites and fakes. This church is the exact opposite and I am beyond grateful to have found it. Seriously, check it out, you will be very happy you did.
