What visitors say
This is a one of a kind church. It has been my home and family for 18 years. Pastor Mark is a true blue Lutheran pastor who preaches Law and Gospel every sermon, and emphasizes the message that Christ loves you. -Outreach opportunities -Group nights for different ages -Contemporary worship with some liturgy Love my church family! Everyone is welcoming and loves each other. The pastor preaches verse by verse straight from the Bible while offering historical and cultural insights. The Gospel is preached in every sermon because it all points to Jesus! The worship is contemporary with some hymns sprinkled in, and communion is served weekly. Come check it out! I've been attending this church for over 20 years. First, come for the teaching. The pastor, Mark, is not going to pull any punches. He preaches Christ, through the Bible, and his teaching is detailed (he'll even throw in some dad jokes for you to groan, or chuckle at, depending on your age). If you've got questions, Mark loves to talk about them, and, typically, will suggest resources that will discuss several different points of view so that you can dig a little deeper into, what can be, difficult areas of study. Apart from the education, and guidance, the church genuinely cares for you. Drop your preconceptions, bring your questions, and join the family. 😊 If you are looking for a church of friendly people, one that makes you feel good after you leave, Searchlight Ministries is the place you want to attend. Pastor Mark is not just a preacher, he is a teacher. You will not leave one of his sermons without learning something about Jesus or the Bible that you didn't know when you walked in. Searchlight is one of Orange County's hidden church gems. I visited this church in partnership with a college ministry, and my impression is that this is a community that feels like a family. People are genuinely very kind and are seeking to reach out to the community and show Jesus' love to people. Welcoming to new people whether you've never encountered God before and are curious or walked with God for a long time.
