What visitors say
I was fortunate enough to visit Our Lady at this location twice. The last time I went, I was looking for a new job and asked her to help me find one. Shortly after returning home, I received a job offer from a company I didn’t think would hire me. This place is very popular with the Vietnamese community, and I can see why, Our Lady does not say no to those who run to her. There is a beautiful Virgin Mary here that you can come visit. There are many people that bring flowers to adorn this statue. You should come by here and see this & enjoy the sunny weather as it is located directly across from the beach. We love the Virgin Mary. Stopped by to check this out as every time I drive by, regardless of time of day, there is a huge crowd around it. There seems to be a never ending cycle of worshippers coming to pay respects and then homeless people coming and stealing the donations. Supposedly this Virgin Mary statue was ordered to remain by the Buddhist monks that took over the property, which unsurprisingly was a convent prior to becoming a monastery. Our Lady turned her eyes to the sea as a sign to always watch over the fishermen and boats. Around Our Lady, there are always beautiful flower pots, Catholics from all over the world visit her and pray with her. May Our Lady bless us and the whole world. This has become a place of comfort for many elders within my family and community. As Catholics they come to seek solace in times of distress and gratitude in times of joy. Every so often my mom would ask me to drive her here so she could visit Mary. It’s where all my aunts and uncles near and far ask to visit when they’re in town. Just a few quiet moments of reflection and we’re off. Yet somehow those few moments make them feel better, happy as if they’ve visited a loved one. While my devotion is not nearly as strong as theirs, I still find myself saying a soft prayer ever time I’m there. This has become a significant location for Vietnamese Catholics. It overlooks the ocean and is surrounded my bouquets of flowers year round.
