Immensely loving congregation. Very welcoming to newcomers, especially service members. Clear and thoughtful biblical exposition from the pulpit each Sunday. Unafraid of addressing difficult topics. Doctrinally infused worship. Their aim is to equip the saints for the work of ministry, whether here in Monterey or around the world. I love being a member of this church family! The community here is fantastic, when my Wife and I went church hunting we went to 2-3 different churches before finding this one. What we wanted was a church that was community friendly meaning they would greet and talk to us and get to know each you know life outside of church, a church that utilized expository preaching meaning to break down the scripture in its correct or accurate context, and a church that is filled with the Holy Spirit, meaning I’m not just hopping up and down filled with emotion 😭but instead filled with conviction, peace, hope, love. Every time we leave I find that I’m not just filled with this artificial fire or strange fire but the conviction of the Holy Spirit and recognizing my deep dependency of Him!!! This church has filled our prerequisites for a faithful church to the Lord. It makes it more personal that it’s small as well!! I love this church and we have made this our church home!! My family has loved attending FBCM for the past year. Pastor Josh Nichols preaches with an expository style, always staying true to Scripture. We have a simple style of worship, focusing on mostly traditional hymns. We especially love that even though the military asks many FBCM congregants to move frequently, Pastors Josh, Eugene, and the elders encourage those in service to become members anyway. The men's, women's, and young adult ministries are so fun and a wonderful way to gather and connect throughout the week. Excited for summer VBS this July! Our church community has shown my little family much love and service in the past year and we are so grateful for God's presence in this church. The Church is truly a wonderful place! My husband and I, being new to California and the Monterey area, have been warmly embraced by this community. We absolutely adore the expository preaching and are deeply touched by the humility and kindness of everyone here. It’s been a joy to meet such welcoming and loving people. This church is based firmly on God's word. Wonderful place to worship!
