Update: The owners response to my review just confirms my entire experience. I definitely would not recommend this church to anyone. They don't even know the people doing deliverance AND notice the owner only cares that i made a public review about my experience rather than fill out a private feedback form. I had a deliverance session with a pastor and his wife, and ever since then, something in my spirit hasn’t felt right about the experience. When I think back on the session, everything was being read from packets of stapled papers, including the deliverance prayers themselves. Nothing felt genuine to me; it all felt forced and rehearsed. The pastor — whose name I honestly can’t remember — seemed bored and tired, almost like he didn’t even want to be there. At one point, the pastor’s wife began calling out certain spirits she believed were within me, such as Jezebel and others I can’t specifically remember. She kept demanding answers from the “spirits” inside of me, and honestly, I just gave whatever answers came to my mind in the moment. As the session continued, both the pastor and his wife instructed me to start coughing into a trash can, saying it was a way to cast the spirits out of me. I did what they told me to do, but I have a very sensitive gag reflex, so the more I coughed, the more I gagged and spit into the trash can. Toward the end of the session, they prayed for me to receive the gift of speaking in tongues. During the prayer, the pastor’s wife told me to repeat what she was saying and copy her, so I did. Afterward, she was convinced that I had received the gift of tongues, but something about the entire experience has continued to trouble me spiritually ever since. I was then supposed to have a healing session with someone else, but the appointment always fell through and eventually the person just stopped contacting me. I take that as the Holy Spirit intervening on my behalf to save me from this church. I would not recommend this church at all just based on my own experience. Church Tsidkenu is not a church for your average Christian on Sunday service, it’s a place for you to encounter the presence of Jesus! Many deliverances and healings by both TSNL, Pastor Ben, Pastor Art Montgomery and the Fire Academy. The Body of Christ here at The Church of Tsidkenu are a beautiful family of worshippers and lovers of Christ Jesus and move in the anointing of the Holy Spirit. 🚩Felt like a dream church, turned into a nightmare!!❌😭PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE 🚩Extreme Manipulation 🚩No accountability (no church board) (no voting on where the money goes!) 🚩”Pastor” Ben does whatever he wants even if it’s sinful and if you don’t like it, he may gaslight/manipulate/gossip about you 🚩Pride in leaders 🚩money mismanagement (lost/possibly stolen money confirmed by multiple witnesses) 🚩if you speak up about a leaders unrepentant sin, you may be preached about and shunned like a CULT This place has officially turned into a CULT sadly. If you don’t want a traumatic experience, do NOT go here!! After years of involvement, my wife and I sadly witnessed SEVERE SPIRITUAL ABUSE and manipulation within the leadership of this church, which caused us deep hurt. We’re sharing out of sincere love and concern for others😢 I hesitated to write this for six months, but it's important to speak up when there’s harm in the Body of Christ. Scripture tells us to expose the works of darkness—not to shame, but to protect and bring things into the light for healing📜✝️ I first attended this church from 2017 to 2024, with a break from 2019 to 2022. In the beginning, I genuinely believe Pastor Ben Wisan started the church with good intentions. However, over time, pride and lack of accountability took root. 🚩No accountability There is no real accountability for leadership. Pastor Ben’s "spiritual covering" consists of books he reads, and while he claims to consult elders, there's no formal elder board, church board, or congregational voting. In practice, he operates without checks and balances. 🚩Gaslighting, manipulation & jezebel tactics In 2024, I spent significant time around Pastor Ben during several mission trips, including one abroad. It was during this time I began to see the subtle manipulation and gaslighting that many others, including my wife and I, experienced. When we brought concerns to leadership—often involving actions of other leaders—we were dismissed, blamed, or accused of being “victims,” even though we approached situations with forgiveness and a desire for resolution. 🚩pastor gossiping and slandering It hurt when Pastor Ben began to gossip and spread false stories about us to close friends in the church. This was done in a polished, spiritual-sounding manner, but beneath the surface, it was gossip and slander. He even went on to publicly accuse us of the very things he was doing—bearing false witness and undermining our character(the devils job as described in John 10…the accuser of the brethren). I now know more than 20 people who’ve experienced similar spiritual trauma under this leadership and are still healing. My wife and I got married at this church. But just weeks later, God began exposing what had been happening behind the scenes, and the mistreatment worsened when we attempted to address things biblically. Pastor Ben responded NOT with compassion but with harshness, accusations, and a refusal to listen. I expect this post may be met with defensiveness or attempts to discredit what I’ve shared. That’s been the pattern. We are now planted in a healthy, Spirit-filled church and are growing and healing. I write this only because I care deeply about those still being harmed and deceived—and I hope and pray for repentance and true freedom for this church. These are some wonderful church options in town where Jesus is truly glorified, including: The Rock Church Faith Chapel Red Seal The Flood Jesus Culture Skyline Church ...and many more. Skip the trauma and the heartache and go find another church that is actually healthy, because there are multiple healthy churches around San Diego but sadly it is not at Church Tsidkenu😢 God bless you and I pray that this church repents for all their pride and sinful ways and then God will exalt them and bless them. I love all you guys and hope this brings healing as the Lord guides you through the process. I pray that God will lead you dear reader and guide you to where you are supposed to be under safe care in Jesus name 🙂
