I have been a member of this church since 2017. This is also when I moved back to Dena. When I came back, I got involved with a housing justice group. The workshop for this housing justice group took place at the West campus of this church. That was my first experience with Pasadena Church, social justice. The church was hosting this workshop. “Interesting,” I thought. When I became a member of the housing justice group, which wasn’t connected to the church, we would go to City Council meetings to fight for more ADUs, affordable and permanent supportive housing in our community. Pastor Kerwin and members of Pasadena Church would be there. “Interesting,” I thought. When our group would meet with the Dept of Housing, again, members of Pasadena Church would be there. I finally decided to visit this church that was so active in community matters. When I did, I learned that Pastors Kerwin and Madelyn just recently lost their precious daughter, Morgan. They were transparent with their grief. It was a beautiful service with so much love it made sense that the same love I felt, would be overflowing to their community. I was shook witnessing the amount of faith these pastors would have to be able to continue worshiping, serving their community, receiving support and giving through what had to be one of the darkest seasons of their lives. I walked away from that service convinced that this was a church that didn’t just preach the gospel but lived it. While there is no such thing as a “perfect” church, this church had been perfect for me. Really disappointed that this Church in Pasadena is afraid of people standing in the public area with cameras. They will violate your rights and call the police on you! Be careful… I have nothing but positive things to say about the leadership and membership of Pasadena Church. I'm not sure what happened with the other 1-star reviewers and the photogate incident. But I can say that as a complete stranger to this congregation, I have been welcomed hospitably by leaders and attenders alike for the 3 times that I visited. More importantly, the Words of Jesus are in focus, and Holy Spirit moves freely. Oh, and this church is more active serving the local community than most. Having attended a wide range of congregations my entire life, I highly recommend this one. Friendly,welcoming atmosphere my Daughter-in-law and I attended Easter service here it was a packed out service! We were given a special gift bag for being a first time guest 🫶🏼They have a wonderful play area for kids and had cotton candy and a scrumptious strawberry 🍓 desert This church is full of hypocrites. They get to practice freedom of religion under the constitution but when someone is practicing the same amendment to take pictures in public on a public sidewalk they call the cops, lie and try and get the people taking pictures put in jail. Total hypocrites. Shameful and disgusting hypocrites.
