What visitors say
Visiting Deacon from Oklahoma and was told how beautiful this Church is. When I arrived, Mass was not scheduled, but I wanted to see the church to say a prayer. I met a staff member Gabby who was hospitable, friendly and accommodating. She took the time to give me a quick tour and directed me to the beautiful Adoration Chapel. Thank you Gabby! You were a blessing to me. Does anyone know what are mass timing for english mass on sundays? I can't find it on the website Been coming here for the past 9 months and I’m going to give my honest review. The only reason I’ve come here is cause this is the only church my mom wants to go to and I wish that weren’t the truth. I honeslty don’t like coming here at all, for one I hate the location of it. It’s situated beside a distributer of vinegar giving the church a bad smell. It’s also next the the train tracks which means trains pass blocking out noise for at least a few seconds during mass. It’s super small, typically I have to be squished between people and that’s just an uncomfortable experience for both parties. One of the priests always has to input his negative thoughts into lessons and that makes one second guess their thoughts. For example, on several occasions he has said the LGBTQ+ community is “summoning demons” and “turning their backs on their faith” I have multiple friends that are apart of the LGBTQ+ community and they try to be religious but these thoughts that the priest inputs are forcing them to turn their backs on the church. The priest constantly exclaims how “god loves everyone” but he shows the contrary when he displays his negative beliefs. Lastly, the announcements feel like they drag on for hours. In other churches where more events happen they manage to do the announcements in a short orderly manner but here they just take way too long which makes people inpatient and stressed. I don’t recommend attending this church, there are plenty of better and superior churches in the area. This is my home church so of course I am going to give 5 stars but really it is a quaint cozy smaller church. we are blessed with 2 amazing priests. And we also offer 5pm english Sunday mass A cohesive, peaceful, and unique church environment where God’s presence can be heartfelt. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parish holds a special place in my heart and I have voluntarily taught catechism to children here for several years.
