What visitors say
A great church! During my first time here, they welcomed me warmly! Everyone is nice and welcoming! Don’t be afraid because no one will judge you as a new member! Warn God's flock. This is a once visible church that had become a dangerous cult, and it will harm you emotionally, spiritually, and financially. 1. There is an immature young pastor of bad fruit, greed, and self-indulgence (Matthew 23:5-13, 23, 25 and 28, 3 John, and 2 Peter 2): fighting and insulting people, making pathetic, pointless, and immature arguments, babbling non-stop disrespectful gibberish, refusing to apply basic Biblical teachings to his own life, falsely accusing people, falsely accusing people of things that he is doing, speaks very insolently, disrespectfully, and foolishly, lies constantly to deny what he did, has terrible, very childish, man-centered and non-biblical sermons, brags constantly (Jude 1:16 and Matthew 6:2-4; 16-18), dominating the Sunday services as just an associate pastor, has little to no decorum, and manipulating people to give him money and join the membership of his church. 2. There is no accountability. The young pastor can never be corrected, rebuked, or disciplined. After I moved on, the immature younger pastor was scared I would begin telling friends who go to SFBC the truth about him, so he slandered me through email to everyone on SFBC's membership list making up a bizarre lie that I "slandered" him and then he told them not to talk to me. Nothing was done and he continued to dominate services and gain more and more influence with the church leaders' support (e.g. a board member announced his "special accelerated membership class" during their service). 3. This church lies, slanders, and makes up false evidence against people to preserve their reputation. One board member wrote lying emails to friends about me. He made up complete nonsense and said I "continued to malign" the young pastor, when I was very patient and kind with him and only went into specifics with one board member. After that, I moved forward with telling the truth about him in detail to people through email and in real life. I do thank the board member who wrote this lying nonsense to friends who go to his church or are members of this church, because it opened the door to warn the community further up to this point. 4. This church brainwashes people into blindly following them instead of being obedient to Christ (Matthew 15:14). Former friends who once were determined not to be manipulated by that church became very badly brainwashed. One of them actually warned me about abuse and libel from that church, but betrayed me and ended contact. A second friend who was less likely to be blinded by them began going out of his way to start arguments to defend SFBC. Then he ended contact too even though I tried to hold on to him without talking about SFBC anymore. They began worshiping SFBC instead of Jesus. 5. SFBC is a money-making business always pressuring people to give more and more money and making people feel guilty for not going to enough of their ministry meetings and social events and not donating enough. 6. In general, the sermons are spiritually dead, shallow, and superficial. Every week, they ask the same spiritually dead questions: "How can I grow in my love for God? How can I know more about the Bible?" However, the last true pastor, an older man, has some good sermons preached out of honest desire to edify believers. He literally told his audience to go home and listen to sermons online if he is just speaking his own truth. That is humility. At best, SFBC is a very controversial church. Once the good pastor leaves, it is a cult. I stopped going in 2023, but I know little has changed. This church has faithfully taught God's word for almost 50 years. I've been part of this church family for 37 years. We have English and Cantonese services. Various fellowship groups meet here on Sunday afternoons, Wednesday's and many groups meet Friday night. Hope to see you here on Sunday. English services are at 8:00am & 11:10am, Cantonese services at 9:30am. This is a very friendly and welcoming Church. As a 3X visitor I've felt very comfortable attending the Sunday, 11:15am Service. I truly enjoy the worship and the Expository Teaching of God's Word. When I can't attend I watch on-line. They have many ministries aimed for all ages, and a very nice Childrens ministry. The most friendliest church I’ve been to
