As the owner of Performance360 gym in San Marcos, having a healthy mind/body/spirit is important to me. I have found my church family in Awaken church. I am on absolute fire for Jesus and only have this church to thank for that. Having a Holy Spirit filled church has changed my life. 🙏🏽 Thanks to Awaken and the way the preach about the Bible, I have found my faith again!!🩷 Amazing Amazing experience at this church! They are SO good at putting on productions that make people feel the gospel in Truth and with their message of love from God through Jesus! Thank God! The online buying of tickets through their Awaken app was quick and easy! I can tell they have numerous folks to guide when you arrive which helps since the building is huge. I’m sure thankful they have dedicated volunteers that are willing to give thousands of hours for their shows to be able to be what they are when it comes to production, lighting, and audio. Some scenes have a portrayal of demons in society which might be a tough watch for kids. They are relating the emphasis on the spiritual world which comes to life in the play. Other than that, for kids over the ages of 15 I might recommend. Just since the message is to spread goodwill and awareness about the importance of learning and seeking God in our society. Wanted to love this church and went, I don't know, 10 or so times before finally throwing in the towel. The word is extremely inconsistent here. It feels like this is more of an audition house for random people to come speak about literally anything. You can often find yourself in the middle of nonsensical political rants, that even if you find yourself agreeing with...you'll wonder to yourself....why am I listening to this at church? There is usually a 15-30 minute section of each service dedicated to just tithing and why you need to tithe. The worship portion of the service is usually also pretty lack luster in comparison to others - not sure how else to describe it other than just not great. The actual spoken word of the church service seriously has lasted as little as 5 minutes in the past. This is after you sit and watch 2-3 promo videos of events coming up that you have to buy tickets for. I've met a few wonderful people here and otherwise do agree with some of the messaging at this church, but it often feels like this is more of a money grab than a church. I was really excited the first couple times I came to this church but after realizing that I don't think I've ever heard the same person speak twice, and when whoever does speak, speaks, it can be a legitimate waste of time that has absolutely nothing to do with, God, church, or anything - but was just some guy trying to vent about whatever he feels like. I often found myself leaving this church wishing I'd have gone somewhere else that takes God a little more seriously. I truly don't believe that I ever left this church feeling impacted by the word or wanting to do better as I have with other churches. Maybe this church will resonate with you, but it did not with me. I hope this review allows you to make an informed decision on your choice to worship. God bless. Praise the lord! Fast forward several decades abd church shopping, my life changed completely here at Awaken with the fresh outpouring of God into my life.
