(I'm Swedish) Me and my husband visit Crossing Church two times in November, during our 7 weeks in Escondido.We just love the loving atmosphere, "family feelings" and we will come back next time we visit our daughter and her family. Good and anointed preaching from the Word of God, and as a "worshiper" from Sweden I love the worship ❤️. Pastor Billy and his wife came and introduced them self for us, and we talked to a couple of others too./ Blessings from 🇸🇪 Sweden Sorry but the worship and atmosphere like most churches today, are like concerts and entertainment centers with colorful fancy stage lighting, wanting everything to look appealing to draw people in, it was difficult to follow and sing with the worship leader because of the range of his voice, I wouldn't even call it direct personal worship to God, it seemed more like the words were more like what we can get from God than direct worship to Him for who He is, today in most churches worship just isn't what it use to be, most disturbing today is you have people drinking coffee and eating their pastry during the worship and preaching of the word, absolutely no reverence towards God, I also noticed the sermon wasn't really all that inspiring to convict you in drawing closer to God and living a godly life by the pastor, I attended here when the last pastor was here, until he was relocated somewhere else, supposedly because the church wasn't growing fast enough was their excuse, my gosh is the assemblies of God church leaders into numbers now, personally I thought the last pastor was an awesome pastor, I believe he was given a bad unjustful break, he gave some super spirit filled engaging powerful sermons, personally I believe when people hear the raw undeniable truth of God's word, most people get squirmish and uncomfortable because it challenges and convicts them, so they go somewhere else where they can hear cotton candy watered down gospel that makes them feel good, nothing that challenges their selfish manicured controlled lifestyle, something that tickles their itching ears, with that being said, I use to look forward going to church back then, worship was great as well, I was heartbroken when the pastor left, when I visited crossings church some years later, it wasn't the same, and it was still the same size regarding people 🙄 ?, till this day I'm still without a church home. I'm home at Crossing Church! I love the pastors, the messages, the people, the outreach, the atmosphere of praising the Lord. I'm so thankful for finally finding a church home and would encourage everyone to come to service any Sunday at 10:30. You'll be so glad you did! Our family loves the message, the worship songs and the people. Great preschool teachings (Sundays) and Youth program (high school age) on Tuesday evenings. Looking into Life Groups on Wednesday evenings (aka small group & Bible study) This is not a review for the church, but for Pastor Billy who officiated our wedding. Pastor Billy did an excellent job, both with our ceremony and with our pre-marital counseling. He really took the time and got to know us, and tailored our ceremony to us. He learned about our most memorable dates and included parts of them into what he said. As Pastor Billy told us, though, Weddings take wedding clothes, but marriages take work clothes, and he put his work clothes on with us during pre-marital counseling, which is yet another thing we cannot recommend enough, especially when working with Pastor Billy.
