Solid, Bible-believing church with clear and deep preaching as well as reverent worship focusing on singing the 3,000-year old Psalms, substantive hymns, & celebration of the Lord’s Supper! How unique in our day!! Highly recommended for those in and near Santa Clarita. I found refuge in this church after attending several mega "non-denominational" churches with questionable eschatology. This church in contrast is small as it is a satellite church of the URC in Chino. The people are warm, welcoming, and passionate about scripture. I get the feeling that most members are not there by default but have chosen to be there specifically to grow in Christ. Traditional hymns are sung - no large choirs, orchestras or rock bands. The bible and the church are the focus. I thank the Lord for Rev Lee Irons who God blessed with a passion for the Word. His sermons are scripturally sound and edifying due to his years of study and a heart filled with the Holy Spirit. He holds an adult Sunday school after the morning service which allows us to delve more into how to apply the sermon to our daily lives. It reminds me of what the early church must have been like. I feel blessed to have found this church. After consuming reformed resources over many years from theologians like Luther, Calvin, Owen, Machen, Sproul, Fesko, Godfrey, etc, I was thrilled to finally discover a wonderful, Biblically solid, confessional, reformation church here in Santa Clarita! This friendly and warm congregation is committed to sound theology and caring for each person that walks through the door. The minister, a brilliant and approachable graduate of Westminster Seminary (not to mention an expert in Greek and Biblical Theology), faithfully preaches from the Bible, proclaims the Gospel in every service, cares for each person in church, and can answer in an understandable way the most difficult challenges/questions. There’s a large group of children ranging from infant to teenagers that are also extremely welcoming and kind - one of the coolest things was seeing teenagers and older kids being so kind to my young daughter. There’s also regular men’s and women’s Bible studies, frequent gatherings, and LOTS of excellent food. I love bringing my family to hear the truth, be ministered to by the Word and sacraments, and enjoy the fellowship. More importantly, in an era of great compromise, error, and novel doctrine, I trust SCURC to be steadfast to their Biblical, confessionally reformed, historical, orthodox, sound convictions. Wherever you are in your life; whether you’re wondering about, new to, struggling, or strong in your faith; whether you’re curious about or committed to reformed theology (or somewhere in between); whether you’re a student, single, married with a family, younger, or older… and just simply want to have rest, peace, and assurance in Christ - this is the place to come! I really enjoy the Christ centered expository preaching where the good news of the gospel is always present. There is a wonderful spirit of hospitality and warmth in the close knit community of believers there that makes everyone feel welcome. Great new church in the area, faithful to God's Word.
