As a queer millennial, I know personally how rough it can be finding loving and accepting Christian spaces, especially in the current political climate. This church community has always been a safe and supportive space for me and my friends. Their go to hymm has always been “All Are Welcome”. There is no pressure to be at every service, no fear of not fitting one mold of Christianity. You are free to question religion here, free to explore your personal beliefs here and free to be authentic to you. First UMC Santa Monica has become my home away from home and I always feel a little bit more love walking through their doors. I went there to see a choir with a full orchestra. The church is beautiful. Come a little early. The parking lot is across the street. The street. Very handicap friendly. I've been attending Santa Monica FUMC for over 30 years and it's still my favorite place to be on Sunday mornings! Great spiritual community that provides opportunities for growth and fellowship, as well as service. Come check it out and look for me! went to Easter service today and it was really terrific. A beautiful church and very friendly people. The story of Easter was powerfully conveyed and the choir and organ music was beautiful! Wow! The Christmas music program on Sunday was superlative! extraordinary! The instrumental interludes to the carols were inspirational. Thank you to all who participated.
