great church in the heart of westwood ❤️ first attended this church as an undergrad student at ucla and can’t emphasize enough what a blessing this church is from the sermons to community! highly recommmend checking out The Commons LA Church alsoooo, we have a great kids ministry! If you’re looking for a place to call home and don’t want to follow Jesus alone, TCLA is the church for you. Besides the free lunch on Sundays, this church is dedicated to thinking Biblically, loving sacrificially, and living Jesus-centered. Committing to this family is worth it! The Commons LA Church offers a welcoming community with inspiring sermons and uplifting worship. A great place to grow spiritually and connect with others. This is the first church I really got plugged into since moving away from home for college. I'm now a part of this church on a level that I didn't expect from any church. I feel like the community at this church are like family. I love that we always have free lunch on Sundays because it lets me hang out with such great people and talk about anything from God to random memes. I think that it is 100% worth your time! Edited to update review: It's been over 5 years since I wrote my last review and I am deeply grateful for all of the experiences I have had with this church family. The people and rhythms have changed a lot over the years, but I think that is to be expected in a church that is pursuing God in such a transient city. Committing to be a part of this community has been a joy. They draw me deeper into relationship with God and tangibly reflect the love that he has for me. All that to say, you should definitely check it out and see if it is the community that God wants you to meet you in. Worst case scenario, we still provide free lunches every Sunday! (which is actually extra awesome because it allows us to get to know you!) TCLA is a Christ-centered, biblically-grounded, and Spirit-filled church. It’s a smallish community (~100 people) which really allows us to live like family! On Sundays, we gather at Upside Down for a weekly gathering and we all share (free!) lunch together as well after. We also have small groups (DGs) and community groups (MCs) throughout the week which allows folks to go deeper and build more meaningful relationships. On Sundays, we often pray aloud together during the service, (which may surprise people so is worth knowing beforehand!) which is an awesome opportunity to learn how to pray by hearing others.
