Our First Time to attend St Peter this Sunday. We googled to get an earlier church time close to home. My husband is a Viking football fan and this is game day. So..off we went to worship and we sure got the 5 star morning. The friendly energy was evident immediately. Lots of smiles and greetings. We were gifted in participating in a Traditional Service with Fine musicians and an amazing soloist. When the congregation shared the peace, we noticed it was most the church members going all around. Will Be Back.. Amen ! Never have I walked into a church and felt so welcomed as a newcomer. Pastor Dave and the St. Peter congregation have an awesome way of making you feel right at home. Since visiting that day a few years ago, my family and I have become members and Pastor Dave baptized our son. We're so happy to have found a church home to raise our little guy in, and we know it will be a wonderful and supportive community for our family for many, many years to come. The first time we walked in the front door at St. Peter Lutheran Church was a Sunday more than 25 years ago. Valerie and I were looking for a new church then, and it has been a blessing ever since. The people, the pastor, and the events have all be a major part of our lives since, and will be forever I’m sure. What a pleasure it is to sit next to people every Sunday who care about what’s going on in my life just like I care about what’s going on in their lives, good or not so good. Pastor Dave has been a wonderful pastor. His sermons are memorable, to the point, and totally non-political. Kids of all ages are always involved when possible and practical. He oversees the activities of the church with close attention and points people in the right direction when necessary. I can say from experience that he is there when you need him to be. In addition to being on Church Council, teaching High School Sunday School, overseeing the Property Committee and being on numerous committees over the years, we have enjoyed the activities connected with the major holidays (Easter, Christmas, etc.). Again, when you are working with people you care about, it makes a big difference. Some of our friends at St. Peter we have known since we started going there. In fact, some we have known before we started going there. These people aren’t just friends, they are “family”. What a blessing it is to sit next to friends/family every week who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that everyone in the room is praying the same way you are and is there for the same reason you are…to develop their relationship with God. I've been a member of Saint Peter for my entire adult life. It's an extension of our family and is so welcoming (really!). The music is top-notch, the children's sermons and programs give my kids a sense of community and confidence that God loves them, the discussions are open and engaging, and the sermons make you think. Come check it out this Sunday! We have been going to Saint Peter for a few years and absolutely love it. The people are super friendly and welcoming without being in your face about it. The Sunday morning worship is always meaningful with wonderful music. Pastor Dave does a great job of tying the weekly lessons into what is going on in the world. He provides an opportunity to think about what it means to be people of faith and what God is calling us to do. The Wednesday brown bag Bible Study is a great place to continue the conversation. There are lots of activities for all ages, especially for the kids.
