What visitors say
I love the church, but it seems too "Seeker Oriented". Easter service had people all around me saying, "what does he mean, everything will be all right"? I understand he meant for the believer who was facing certain death, but it came across more like a North Point, Andy Stanley service. It needed to be more clear what happens if you don't believe. I mean it's the day we celebrate Jesus resurrection to save us from hell. The saved seats and reserved seats really is a turn off and puts several people like me, sitting in the lobby because someone "saved half a row" in between empty reserved seats. I hate to say it but I feel the Lord is directing me to a true Bible teaching Church and not just the pastor's experiences relating to a small portion of a verse. I love Chris and pray for him, but I see yet another church where fame hurts the church and fosters watered down services to make anyone feel like they're just fine how they are now and nothing is said that might be uncomfortable. I can't imagine Peter giving a service like here, he would have spent time on Jesus' words, not his experiences from the previous week that had nothing to do with Jesus. I pray for churches to value their believers first. My husband and I went for the first time 3/22/26. The volunteers and greeters are nice. The church is beautiful and clean. Pastor Chris does an amazing job and we appreciate all that he brings to his sermon - authenticity, historical context of scripture and relevancy and application for "today". We appreciated the video of the couple sharing their life experience as well. As much as we appreciate the hard work that goes into the musical production and performances by talented musicians and vocalists, our main complaint is that the MUSIC IS WAY TOO LOUD. There are people with neurological conditions who suffer from migraines in which exposure to loud sounds is excruciating. Sounds at or above 85 dB can cause permanent damage to auditory nerve cells (leading to permanent hearing loss). I suppose that we can either watch sermons from home, wear ear plugs during music segment, or look for another church. Also, we would prefer some classical hymns mixed in there, less time on music overall, and more time on the sermon. This is truly a nice church but we are wondering if we are "too old" for this one, lol. There’s a reason they turned off the comments on their YouTube channel. It’s a good church if you want to punch you’re, “I went to church this week card”. But not much else. The pastor is kind of a coward, and does not deal with issues as they come up. People in leadership, randomly leave with no explanation all the time. The ladies that lead worship are constantly vying for attention, it’s more like a bad concert, than worship. We left after 8 years. And in two months we have 10x the community at our new church. It’s entertaining and they will get you in and out in an hour. But don’t expect anything more. The closest thing they have for community is their serve days. We’ve been attending this church since 2025. It’s great to see so many young people attending, and I think the local church does a great job attracting them. However, I’m concerned that Pastor Chris struggles to convey the Bible’s message to us, and we are having a difficult time connecting with the church. I believe Pastor Chris has good intentions, but ultimately, only God can confirm that. I have been attending Local for nearly two years. This past Sunday, I left feeling disappointed. I completely understand that the Church aims to grow and that funding does not appear out of thin air; however, the entire service on March 1st focused on the new expansion project intended to add more seating and amenities. I think that dedicating 10 to 15 minutes to this topic would have sufficed before transitioning to the word of God. If more time was necessary to discuss the project, it would be more suitable to schedule a separate day and time for that discussion. It is important to recognize that at every service, there may be individuals who have never attended your church and are in need of hearing the word of God. If I were to bring someone who is facing challenges in their life and is considering giving the Church a chance, attending your service on 3/1/26 might deter them from doing so. This review is not intended to criticize the Church; rather, it is meant to convey that a brief mention of the project followed by a focus on the true essence of the Church—learning and dedicating oneself to the Lord Jesus Christ—would be beneficial. Please keep in mind that there may be new attendees each week who need to hear their pastor speak about Jesus, rather than spending an entire hour discussing the Church expansion project.
