First timer utilizing the Friday Food Pantry ministry. The older gentleman that handed out the facial masks and directed cars was very cold and stern. He never acknowledged my hellos or well wishes and seemed somewhat emotionally detached from the true purpose of dealing with vulnerable people. I was considering visiting the church, but he put a bad taste in my mouth. First impression is everything!! Good Customer service especially in a church based ministry is key!! Besides that, the food items were decent and good variety. Thank you for your assistance and God bless I reached out to Friendship Baptist Church during a time of real need, hoping for guidance, prayer, or any form of assistance. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly discouraging. I was declined the opportunity to speak with a pastor, denied benevolence assistance, and told there was no help available for emergency food, or clothing. When I asked to speak with a director or receive an email contact for follow-up, I was told no. I even asked if they could point me toward any other community resources, and that request was also declined. I work in the medical field and was simply trying to find help to continue working and survive a difficult moment. While I understand organizations have policies, the lack of compassion and refusal to provide even basic guidance or referrals was extremely disappointing. Friendship Baptist Church is truly welcoming and full of love. Pastor Bowens delivers uplifting and powerful messages, and the worship is joyful and inspiring. I am blessed to be part of the Outreach Ministry, which I truly love. Friendship is more than a church to attend, it is a place to belong, grow, and serve. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a loving and spirit filled church home! The heart of God beats on the inside of this divine pastoral kingdom leadership team. The true gospel is preached, taught, and echoes within the walls and on the land of this historical site. Come be led, fed, and loved on by the church Christ built-you can feel it in the atmosphere. My forever faithful family! I visited FBC for the first time today. It was mostly as I expected. I arrived a little late so I am not able to assess their welcome and parking and welcine ministries. Although the shuttle bus driver did offer me a ride up to the church. The grounds and the building are immaculately kept. The sanctuary is modern. The musician are professional, though it seemed that some were on vacation today. The music was good. The video presentations were poor. The graphics seemed very amatuerish and not up to the standard of the rest of the worship. They should invest in a proper church graphics presentation software. The praise and worship was very good. There was very good congregational participation and the songs seemed to be well known. The service was very organized. The ushers all seemed to know exactly what they were doing. There wasn't a bulletin. The order of service was broadcasted on two jumbo screens on either side of the stage. I liked that the offering seemed to be an important part of the service. A bible verse was read prior to the offering prsyer. Tying tithing to biblical principals. The sermon today was entitled "The Cave Experience " it was all about David being in a dark cave but not losing his faith in God. God puts us all in dark places for a reason and if your follow his lead we will come out better and stronger in our faith in God. It was biblical based and it connected with the congregation including me. The preaching was sterotypical Baptist with a lot of hooping and hollering at the end. All in all its a good place to get a good word.
