I came here based on a recommendation from my neighbor of 6 years who attends with his wife. I’ve been struggling with some significant issues and health care system has not helped on 5 occasions so I decided to try on a spiritual level. I asked the man doing the food drive if there was anyone I could speak with who was open minded. He took me to Brooke. She was very cordial and polite but not welcoming or loving whatsoever. She didn’t hear me out and dismissed everything I said based on the fact that it didnt or hasn’t happened to her. I felt called to bring light to this information as I am early to know it and it affects society as a whole. I just have had more exposure due to work environment and was immunocompromised due to two recent eye surgeries which is why it’s so prevalent in me. I don’t feel that how she treated me and even walked me to the door was right. It wasn’t in a caring way but a make sure this crazy person is actually leaving way. I felt very judged and left in tears. I explained this was my first time back inside a church since age 7 and I am 32 now. This didn’t help but I’ll pray for Brooke and her family as she will unfortunately regret not hearing me out when all of this information starts becoming public knowledge and she could have helped the cause. I will also continue on my search to find someone who can be loving and accepting regardless of their own opinions and can be open minded enough to understand that just because you don’t have personal experience with something, doesn’t make it automatically wrong or false. This was a very serious conversation that was taken lightly. I was called a conspiracy theorist and told that there was nothing the church could do to help me when all I wanted was a true open conversation and some advice if there was any to give. I don’t need to have been in church physically to know the bible and people called Jesus crazy and tried to discredit him too including his own family, let’s not forget this. Amazing church with amazingly generous people who go out of their way to help. They have been feeding me on and off for years when money was tight and I needed help. Teri, Gwendolyn, Marsha, Karen, George, Chris, and others volunteer their time every single week to help keep hundreds of local people fed in the community. They are truly doing God's work and I couldn't be more thankful to them and the church for all of the help over the years. A truly great church with a big heart for helping the community. Thank you. Sincerely, Michael I was treated like I was the lowest form of a human being today it was hard for me to even have to go to this pantry today my first time coming there and it will be my last I set in line for 45 minutes which I did not mind I was grateful for the help I watched the elderly gentleman going car to car he skipped passed mine I wasn't sure what he was doing as this was my first time coming there I even had to ask how do I get in line where do I get in line to another elderly gentleman that was directing traffic who directed me to the second line and I sat there for the 45 minutes patiently waiting my turn when I got up to the underpass where they were loading the groceries into the car the woman asked for my number I told her I had not received one she then walked away from my car and yelled we've got another line cutter which I was not she took my ID and the piece of mail that I brought with me and hollered again we have another line cutter second one which again I was not she then walked over to the gentleman that had skipped me and went to the car behind me obviously giving the numbers when I asked her did he let her know that I had been setting in that line she said no and I politely told her that she was being very rude that I was not a line cutter and that it was difficult for me to be here in the first place let alone someone to be calling me a line cutter and making me feel bad and then an older gentleman from the inside yelled at me and said we don't have to help you. you can go ahead and leave if you want. Well I wouldn't have been there unless I needed the help so of course I didn't want to leave I just wanted to be treated with decency. So like I said this is my first time going there and this will be my last. I know God will provide for me some other way all I can say to the dark-haired slender woman please do better because I don't think your attitude today was godly in any way. This pantry has helped me a great deal, Today the lady asked us not to come till 12, Which is fine, I come after dropping children off, Because I have a limited amount of gas. Then she came back and Told us all to leave, Angrily Because the car came through the parking lot too fast, Why not tell them that they are not allowed to return, Instead of taking it out on everyone! I understand safety for children, If they did not, then they should be banned. But I do think she should be a little more professional, And compassionate To the people who are not causing the problem! And we should probably tell our volunteers to slow down a volunteer just came through the parking lot as fast as the car she was mad at and parked. Thank you!!! This is my church.
