European Gothic cathedral in northern Kentucky! Knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. We did not have a tour scheduled, but the host at the door basically gave us our own private tour. We also bought the self-guided tour booklet ($10) that you can do from any location, you don't have to be in the cathedral. Also bought a very nice book on the amazing stained glass windows (I think it was $25 or $30.) Prayer candles are real candles, not LED, and were $5. The organist was practicing when we were there, so that made it extra special. I was in town for work. It was a beautiful day so my coworker and I walked here from our hotel, the Radisson. It's a gorgeous cathedral. The greeter was lovely and so informative. They will tell you where you can walk and what you can take photos of (there is an area where no photos are allowed). The stained glass is amazing as well as the mosaics. It does not take long to view everything, definitely look at the hours and visit if you're in the area. One of the most beautiful Churches I have ever been in. The Volunteers are some of the most nicest people. I'm not Catholic but I enjoy going and love sitting in the pews and soaking up all the beauty and usually I say a few prayers of thanks. I've struggled with religion but somehow when I walk into this Church that all seems to go away and I feel like I am home again just like when I was a child and going to Church all the time. Breathtakingly beautiful. The carvings, paintings, stained glass pictures and the religious relics were stunning. Grateful we had the opportunity to visit. This gorgeous cathedral is a must see for anyone with a love of architecture or art. The vaulted ceilings take your breath away, and the stained glass is of the finest craftsmanship. Our volunteer who was giving us information about the cathedral was very knowledgeable and welcoming. This church boasts two organs, one of them being the oldest working one of its kind in the world. According to our volunteer, he said 700 people were present at the Christmas Eve service and you can see from some of the photos that there are plenty of pews and seating all around the church. This is a beautiful facility and I highly recommend everyone to go. They do not charge admission and the parking is free.
